I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. Lara by Sottero & Midgley, I am soon n love. This is the one. For more than a year I have been pining over this dress, obsessed with it, reading on the Bee and staring at the model pics.
But oh would it suit me??
I tracked it down and turned out that only one store in my country carried the dress. And it was a size too small (size 10).
But I went, loved and bought!
The consultant already put her out for the appointment because I called ahead to check if they still had it.
It was the first dress I put on during the appointment and immediately knew. This is it. I was so afraid that it would be so small that I wouldn’t be able to see it on me but it nearly fit me like a glove. OK, you can see some fat but it wasn’t half as bad as I expected.
I tried on several others just for the sake of it and of the same brand in the right size (12) so I could visualize. Then in the end I put Lara on again, she jacked me up with a veil and I just said:
‘ok I guess there’s no way around it, this is just it.’
I didn’t like the belt with the flowers that came with the dress but she took the same belt without the flowers of another Maggie dress (the Amara, tried that one on too) and she gave the belt to me for free!
So I guess you’re waiting for the pics! Once again, it’s a size too small but I am absolutely certain that in the right size it will fit me perfectly.
A special thank you to Jasmine77 here on the board for showing her pics and making sure that I felt completely comfortable trying this lovely dress on today. You were completely right, it feels so light and the slip dress is so comfortable and forgiving. It feels really comfortable to wear.
And thank you to mgbser for private messaging me about keyholes in general. Thanks girls!
