Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to share my dress journey story and encourage you to share yours (with pics!!!). Do also feel free to let me know your honest opinions – I have a pretty thick skin 😉
I’m actually based in the UK and I just got back from New York where I was visiting my family over New Year and do a bit of dress shopping with my mom and two of my brides.
Despite making appointments with at least 6 salons I had originally didn’t have any real expectations of finding my dress on this trip. After the first four appointments I was actually getting very discouraged as I wasn’t finding anything I loved and actually had a couple of negative experiences at a couple salons.
I did come close to saying yes at Romona Keveza (who has absolutely exquisite dresses!!) but the minute I tried on my Lazaro I knew it was the one 😍🎉🍾💍
Unlike the majority of dreases my mom and others were gently pushing me towards (they preferred all lace or more of any A-line style which are absolutely gorgeous but lacked a certain drama factor for me) it’s a big beautiful ball gown that’s just a little too much – but heck I’ve always been a believer that MORE is more hahaha! I also fell in love with the lace details, the colour (faint champagne / peachy blush), and the tiny tiny sparkle that is somehow woven into the skirt (not beaded or sequins).
Here’s the one that almost was:
And here’s my beauty!! (please ignore the flower blob on the waist as it will be removed and I will wear a beaded belt like I am in the photos)
