- Wedding: May 2013
I completely didn’t expect it, but… I said YES to the dress.
I scheduled to go wedding shopping at a boutique for a particular designer. Regardless, I let the consultant pull a bunch of dresses after she talked to me about what idea I was going for, and pull a few Silhouttes I hadn’t tried on before like empire waisted and some really huge ball gown.
I found a an A-line that with a belt made me like.. ba-da-bing. I had hips I never had, curves in places I never had.. but too much emphasis on my stomach. Beh.
Then I tried on a modified A-line, more like a drop waist that had a corset back and beading to make it look corset like – OMG. It was beautiful.
Then my mother pulled one very similar, but the bodice had ruching. Ugh, I didn’t want to try on ruching…..
Thank goodness I did.. I fell in love. Hard. and.. it felt comfortable. Win-win.
Plus there was a veil that matched perfectly, was about the length I had envisioned with beading that matched the dress’s perfectly. Plus my mother loved it – and that eliminated the entire veil fight – without a blusher!!!!!
