So my sister came in from interstate to help my decide on bridesmaid dresses and my wedding dress, and today I made the order! 😆 I never thought I’d go for a strapless dress, but once I tried it on it was the one for me! It’s the Valentina from Brides Desire, and I think the saleswoman said it was a late 2016 collection. I can’t see it on their website though.
Anyway, my hair will be up for the ceremony and half up half down for the reception. Since the dress itself is quite simple, what kind of jewellery should I go for? Eg small stud earrings, simple solitaire necklace, chandelier/drop earrings, statement necklace?

Wow! Stunning dress, and I love the veil! Are you thinking more pearl or silver jewelry? What kind of statement necklace are you considering? It’s all about your style and how you feel beautiful 🙂

I think Chandeleir pearl and rhinsetone earings wouldlook great. Your dress suits your slender frame so well.

That a beautiful and delicate dress and your frame is delicate too. So I would nto go for big blingy dangly anythigns, maybe drop pearl earrings and a small chain Y necklace ?

Medium statement necklace, smaller drop earrings, pearl bracelet and a nice hair accessory for the back:

I agree with PP: both your dress and frame are truly delicate. I would say that in another context, you could very well carry off bold, statement jewelry. In this case, your dress is the deciding factor; I think in terms of jewelry, it’s best to keep it simple.
My suggestion is to wear simple pearl earrings, and to go a bit bold (but very romantic) with your hairpiece:

Hairpiece from Bellalovely, an Etsy shop (would work well with both an updo and half up/half down):

thank you, the veil is my sisters (something borrowed). By statement necklace I meant anything bigger than the simple and fine jewellery I normally wear.
My aunt offered to lend me her pearl necklace and if I can find earrings to go with it, I might consider it. Pearls are lovely!
I agree, I think something simple but not too small that it would disappear in photographs. Since my hair will be completely up during the ceremony, I think dangly earrings might be too much.
Thank you, those are gorgeous suggestions! I love the hairpiece, I think because my hair is so dark and there’s no contrast (it’s just black black black) that would liven it up a bit
Thank you everyone for your suggestions, it’s pretty much confirmed what I thought. Since I’m quite short (150cm) I agree that small and delicate jewellery would be best. But the larger pieces are so hypnotic and shiny! xx

LOVE your dress! When it comes to jewellery, I always vote ‘delicate is best’. It’ll give your look a more ‘timeless’ feel to it 🙂
