I am having a bit of freak out fest! I’ve sent my boyfriend a ton of rings over the past few months… ( guess over the past few years really haha).. mostly from this site:
I’ve been swooning over those rings, and telling him what I want and what I’d change and everything!
Anywhoo... We’ve got this fancy smancy printer at work with an LCD screen and it keeps a list of everything that you print out. Just names though, (ex: Photo2.jpg , WalmartShppingCart) just simple names.
Well, yesterday I was scrolling through looking to see if mine printed and next to my Bf’s name was AntiqueEnagementRingsShoping. (which is what the page is called when you click on a ring). He printed SOMETHING off of that site and now I am DYING to know what it is! I suggested to him designing a ring based on some vintage styles and some of his own ideas, maybe he’s using one as inspiration??
the downside is, I sent him a ring from that site almost 7 months ago that I do not like anymore, i really hope its not that one….
I just resent him another email this morning wth a gorgeous ring i found on that site. Just to sway Him in the right direction. But now i’m worried that he’s already in motion and I may have messed up his plans!
Ugh! I’m nerouvs that things are happening, and I want to know whats going on!
This is the old love. (i dont like the split band anymore)
and this is my new love:

LOL you sounds **JUST** like me before I got engaged! Based on my experience, all I can tell you is to trust him. He knows what you like, and if your taste has changed over those seven months, I’m sure he’s noticed through the pics.
I was sending my Fiance ring pics ALL THE TIME before we were engaged. Looking back, I’d be annoyed at me if I was him! lol… And I was soooo nervous that, despite all the pics, he was going to pick out an ugly ass ring that I was going to hate. Well… He picked a true winner! So in addition to the fact that I’m going to be marrying the man of my dreams, I got an awesome ring. Icicing on the cake!

@LoveMikey: okay phew glad to know im not the only crazy! Thank you for your comment, that really makes me feel better. i trust him, but I’m also somewhat of a control freak. I dont want to pick my ring for him, but I’m so nervous that It might not be what I really want. I will love it no matter what though! and i’d never modify it. 🙂 thank you though. really! You’ve calmed me down, haha.

LOLOL. I know how you feel! When we were still talking about rings I flat out asked him if he knew what I’d like. He said, yeah, a yellow gold solitaire I saw on your saved files. OMG that photo was from over a year before and I had completely changed my mind. But, when I saw how much he loves a nice classic ring and how much it complements my simple style, I knew he was right. I slather lotion on a gazillion times a day so all of the detailing and pave styles would just be dirty all the time. When it comes down to it, it’s the symbol with a pretty diamond attached 😉

I totally understand! I had my heart set on a pearl I just HAD to have a pearl e-ring. Then recently I decided everyone was right and pearls were just too easily messed up and too fragile for everyday use. So I started looking at diamonds.
Unbenownst to me Fiance had already bought a pearl ring. He proposed with it last week and at first I was super nervous (I hadn’t told him I changed my mind!) As soon as I had it in my possession I fell in love with it because it is what he chose for me and that meant more than anything. I know that sounds cheesy but if you’re anything like me as soon as you get it you won’t mind if it came from a Cracker Jack box!!

@SunnyBunny: Ive said to myself tons of times “there is no ring on this planet that i’d ever NOT love coming from him”.. and i stick to it. It still makes me nervous, but at the same time, i’m super excited to see what he cmes up with!
@sherryberry: You are right. 🙂 it’s the symbol. I have not forgotten that!

@ravenwait: Yay, I’m glad I was able to put you at ease! 🙂 I also wanted to come back and say that, as truly OBSESSED as I was with rings before we got engaged, when he proposed, the ring was seriously the last thing on my mind. I completely forgot that there was supposed to be a ring involved. So he had to be like, “Ummm… Are you even going to LOOK at the ring??” hahaha… That is probably my favorite part of our proposal story!

So, I fell in love with a split shank ring when Fiance and I first started looking. In August of last year he showed me some potential settings that were all split shanks, I got SOOO excited. Then I discovered halos… And I wanted a halo SOOO bad. I’d point them out and gush over them and all that jazz. Little did I know, he had already started the process of getting my ring made/altered to fit my little finger. lol
He kept telling me it wouldn’t be until after the New Year that he would propose. He took me to Vegas for Thanksgiving of 2010. I wasn’t expecting a proposal, just a great time! I told him that day we should just get married and started singing along with Rascall Flatts “Why Wait”. While we were shopping that first day I tried on a halo ring and again gushed over it. I told him that is what I wanted!
You know what happened that night after dinner? You guessed it, he proposed. I got the split shank ring I had originally wanted. And it’s beatiful but he still teases me that it’s not a halo.
And the best part? I told him earlier that day while shopping that I’d trade him for a Harry Winston diamond.
