Mr. Esq PROPOSED last night!!
We’ll be married in exactly one year and I will still be floating then. He plotted with my family and friends and NO ONE slipped!!
Yesterday started as a regular workday, except for the fact that my co-workers and I went ice skating durng lunch. I should’ve put it together because my Fiance (I’m sooo excited to call him my fiance!!) didn’t want me to do it because he was SOOO worried that I’d break my ankle or wrist, but I’m proud to say I didn’t fall at all!! The story is that my co-worker (who is also a close friend and future Bridesmaid or Best Man of mine) would go to happy hour for her birthday (which was Monday) and then Mr. Esq and her boyfriend would join us for dinner afterwards.
The happy hour was at the restaurant where my Fiance and I had our first date. This wasn’t too out of the norm because we do that every now and then. But, as Happy Hour closed my co-worker said she had to go to her car to get something and to freshen up before her date arrived. So, my Fiance and I went to get seated and I kept asking him where I should sit and he told me not to worry about it…I sat down and I immediately asked him if he remembered that the dress I was wearing what what I wore on our first Valentines Day Date and he said, “that’s perfect…” and when I looked at him I saw the most sincere and look of pure love on his face and all of my best friends started walking to the restaurant and I LOST IT!!
He took my hand and got on one knee, I was crying so hard that I can’t remember his exact words, but when he asked me to be his wife I said, “YES”!! Everyone in the place was cheering and crying and I wouldn’t change a thing…by the way, I didn’t even notice that we were seated in a group section!! After things calmed down, we called our parents and my grandparents (he asked my father and grandfather for my hand a few weeks ago…which means the world to me). I can’t believe everyone knew!!
I can’t thank you all enough for being there…this board helped to keep me sane and I couldn’t wait to share, waiting was truly a process and worth every up and down!!
Smooches and blessings, y’all!!
