I am 47 years old. I dont reall have any girlie tendencies and I dont wear dresses so what is it about my wedding dress that makes me fee like I’m 12? lol
Last year, I walked into the bridal store and said I didnt want satin, beads or a fluffy ballgown. I was pretty adamant about it until I saw “The dress” which is a satin beaded bodice ball gown. Took my breath away. I really couldnt afford it though so I bought it from preownedwedding. It was never altered, still had the tags and the garment bag, and was about a 1/3 of the retail price. Oh and it also came with the jacket and veil I wanted! Great deal right? Unless you suddenly have to take meds that make your weight balloon up. Fast foward to now and the dang thing doest fit anymore…not sort of doesnt fit, not almost fits… like two sizes doesnt fit 🙁
I talked to the bridal shop and they suggestd I come in early for my first fitting and they would see if they could put in the corset back I wanted or if I neded to order another dress. I fretted about it all week because I dont have money in the budget for another dress! Its the only thing I’ve fretted over this whole year…like in tears fretted…Fiance keeps saying it doesnt matter what I’m wearing. he is just over the moon we are getting married.
Seriously I fretted over this… over an article of clothing… what the heck? what is it about the wedding gown that makes us neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it? lol
Oh they could in fact do the corset back and she is altering on the sides alittle bit so I can pull it in when I start losing the weight again (off meds now yay).
I was so happy, I rewarded myself with a sparkly tiara…. I’m 12 years old it seems lol
So how about you… would it matter if you suddenly couldnt wear your dress on your day?
