They actually can charge him with mail fraud and possession of stolen property, but they have to be able to prove he’s got the package, either with video, an eyewitness, or with a confession from him. If it’s a GIA Stone, which I think all Blue Nile stones are, they need to flag that GIA number too. No one keeps an engagement ring for someone else – he’s probably hoping to sell it, if that is really what it is.

Check with his neighbours everyone has cameras these days!

I’m confused.  Did Fed Ex not get a signature, even though one was required? Is there proof this person stole it? How do you know someone else in the building or from the outside didn’t take it? How is it okay for a police officer friend of yours to go over there and intimidate and threaten him?
