So…. I’ve posted before how SO is having some debt issues atm and we have agreed on a timeline of 1-3 years (for engagement and wedding – engagement within a year). Last night we were having a money discussion and when he saw I was starting to ask about *ahem* bling, he looked at me in that way of his, said, “the ring’s ok, you get no more details”. (!!!!!!!!) So, would that make any of you bees wonder, did he buy the ring? AHhhhh! I admit doing the little crazy happy dance in the bathroom when he wasn’t looking. 😉
So of course I had to tell someone this news – texted my Boyfriend or Best Friend and got back “hmm, with the $ issues, think this is the best time to be buying ring?” I texted back I know it’s a serious time but that this made me excited and I’d hoped she’d share in that with me. Frustrating.
In any case, now I am dying of curiousity!

That’s exciting though! Too bad your best friend didn’t share your excitement. Sometimes people can be real downers.
I found out that my SO had bought the ring because I went to get the mail and found a statement from the jewelry store. I shoved it back in and pretended it never happened. But I went inside and started dancing too. It’s a good feeling. Hopefully you don’t have to wait very long!

Ugh, sometimes friends just don’t understand! That’s why I’m so thankful for the bee.
Hopefully he did get the ring! That’s really exciting!

I just found out that my Boyfriend or Best Friend *picked* the ring. Not purchased yet. I have a friend who’s giving
me the same “is now a good time?” speech. Ugh.
Carry on with the happy dancin, girl!!!!

Thanks, guys! 🙂
@scarlet letter – ugh, it’s just so unnecessary, y’know? It’s like, “quit raining on my parade and be happy for me, damnit!” Gotta love friends, eh? 😉
The frustrating part with the friend is, she herself just got engaged over a month ago. She’s totally not the drama type so it’s not a stealing thunder thing (at least I don’t think so) but yeah… I am going to keep on dancing the happy dance! Also enjoy the relationship and try and let myself off the hook for now and relax. Hard, but we have so much other stuff going on that I’m hoping when it comes it will be totally out of left field, haha. 😉

Girls are so jealous of other’s happiness, it is so annoying. Which differenciates a friend from not. That is sooo exciting! The ring symbolizes that he is with you thick and thin while since you are sticking around regardless of the money issues.

Ok, so the friend is being a lot cooler about things – she has had some debt issues of her own in the past so she was just relaying her own caution and experience. In any case, she’s my girl and all is cool on that front.
As for the ring… Right now it has not been brought up whatsoever since that talk a week ago, and a thought sprang to mind – maybe he’s waiting until he gets a promotion he’s been trying for until he proposes? I think sometimes guys just want that better standing in life before they make such a huge leap. In any case, I have been so much calmer and I know we are so solid… We have stuff to work on like any couple but this morning we were just looking at each other and I feel so lucky. Seriously. /mushy mushy
