Ahhhh, I really want to squee about this to someone, but I can’t! My boyfriend is definitely going to propose in the next few months, and I know he wants to be sneaky about it. He’s not going to tell me when, where, how, or even that he has the ring (which I know next to nothing about) when he gets it.
Anyway, he’s sitting next to me while he procrastinates on writing the final paper for one of his classes, and he’s been on his email a lot. Well, he uses Gmail, so even when he’s doing something other than internet, if he gets a new email, a little window pops up in the corner with the name of the person it’s from and the first line or two of the email. I happened to look over just as one of those windows popped up. It was an email from his mom, and it said, “Haha, so she said she expected you to have asked already?” Which I told him I totally did. I went to go get some water, and from the kitchen, I could see him pulling up his email again and furiously typing a response. I tried to read over his shoulder, but I just couldn’t read it from that far away. When I came back a moment later, he quickly switched to a different window – that of his blank Word document.
It may be nothing, but he tells his mom everything, and if he were going to talk to anyone about engagement and proposal stuff, it would be her. I’m just so excited that I feel like I’m going to explode! I can’t, though, because he’s right next to me.
How do you ladies deal with the excitement and impatience?
