Talk to the store ASAP…see if theyre willing to do anything?! They might not have put in the order yet! Just tell them you will still buy something from them and to use the deposit for another dress.Let me know if you contact them and what they say…

If it is any concelation…it is not too muhc of a mermaid… with a gorgeous big flower or bow belt it would look sooo pretty!

You can try to return it, if you’d like. I wouldn’t stress to much about it, because the dress really isn’t as important during and after the wedding as we convinced ourselves it is before the wedding.

I’m sorry. I have done the same thing. Twice!

Check with the store. If they won’t refund the deposit. They may let you apply it towards another dress. Good luck.

I would talk to the store and see if you can apply the deposit to another dress.  I bet you are not the first one to do this!

@gio: I know they can make an Aline dress mermaid…so I’m pretty sure they can! but it would need more material…hmm did you buy a size that is a little bigger?

Don’t stress out too much tonight. Call them tomorrow or Tuesday if theyre not open tomorrow.

if the dress is too big, they can leave the hips “too big” when they alter it and it would be a “relaxed” mermaid in that area… but it’ll still look reduced/tighter in that area…

if you hate the mermaid, keep up the persistance at the store… call them again! then call them again and again! until you have an answer… if it’s up the the consultant, then it probably means you just have to assure her that you’ll come back in and purchase a different dress at that salon from her…

i tried on this dress  and ADORED it… but it was the size 10 sample (i’m a size 2), so once the consultant re-clipped me with the thighs tighter like the correct size would’ve been, i realized i just couldn’t do it… i tried so hard to be a mermaid fan because of this dress, but i just wasn’t… so stick to your guns if you’re really freaking out… try on a bunch of other ones, then try on this one again to be sure… you’ll figure it out! 🙂

good luck with everything and keep us updated! 🙂

@bbutterfly: i don’t think the pic you posted is the Tracey? the neckline is different and it looks like it’s less of a mermaid than Tracey is… ?

I agree with the otehr Bees. If you truly feel as though you have made a mistake then DEFINITELY speak to the store ASAP. I would be very surprised if they dont let you apply the credit to another dress. Just be sure to speak with them before they begin making your dress.

Don’t stress out, you’ll solve the problem tomorrow as soon as you connect with your consultant, I dont’ believe they won’t allow you to change the other as you’re having not good feeling with this one, I think the only possibility is they might charge a little money for the exchange.
