I guess I missed that whole scene about googling your stone (?) All I can say is – be whatever handle you like – goodness, I wouldn’t let an internet site dictate what I do. I’m sorry that someone googled stalked your handle. Not nice.

If he exchanged it for an ethical stone, what are your concerns?

K so I just went back and read the whole previous thread to figure out what the heck was going on lol. Uhhh that “gemgirl” is kind of a creep just a little bit! Oh geez.

The important thing is that you know the truth.

Does it really matter what a bunch of people on the internet think if it’s not true? It really doesn’t. Loved, hated, or forgotten, an internet persona is mostly whatever people are imagining in their own heads (no matter how honest you try to be…it’s just too distant to really know someone). We don’t know you at all. You know yourself. Just focus on that.

This board needs MORE attitutude, if you ask me.

That’s really one of my only complaints of this place….it sometimes gets a little too Pollyanna for my taste.

@JaneyDcat:  Well yeah, I agree with you, I love attitude actually, but for that to work best, people have to have a thick skin and know that what people think of you on the internet (be it good or bad) doesn’t necessarily have much to do with who you actually are in real life. If someone thinks, for example, that I’m really a lonely 90 year old man obsessed with weddings, that shouldn’t hurt my feelings, nor if I can convince someone else that I’m Halle Berry laying low, should my pride be poofed up.

Things should only hit home if they’re true.

Oh my god I just read that thread.  I don’t know how a thread of florescence turned into that.

I’m really sorry that that happened to you.  But trust me, it made her look like a crazy psycho b*tch and said nothing about you.  You should ask that that thread be closed.

This is the internet, noone can hear us, they have to depend on our written word. Sometimes we are all not as kind or diplomatic as we could be when responding to others. (raising hand)

It’s also true that something written in a public forum is there for for posterity.  Thus if one tells a story one way then changes the facts significantly in a subsequent post, one may get challenged on the veracity of their story.

None of us really know each other or how we conduct our lives. I’m honest almost to a fault-that reflects in the standards I have. We all bring our own characteristics to our posts. Be those bad or good. Noone cares what your stone is or isn’t. Most here would agree, the meaning of the ring is the “real” gem. What I don’t like and many others don’t like is a lie.

@BuBuBubbles: really unnecessary to resort to name calling yet again Bu.

@gemgirl6:  Cool.  Why don’t you worry less about what I’m saying and go find another thread to troll?  I’m sure there’s a thread out there somewhere where you can repeatedly falsly accuse (ok downright harass) someone about being a liar based on your creepy google searches. You know, because that’s a public service that you’re morally obligated to provide.

I don’t think you were cranky in your last post.  I liked the meme about the caps lock- so true!

@gemgirl6:  Noone cares what your stone is or isn’t.

it’s just that your MANY posts today made it painstakingly clear that you do care. drop it already.

@aquaelle:  I don’t think you were being cranky at all. You were offended that that bee repeatedly called you a liar and I don’t think anyone could fault you for that. I admit, that I should have let it go after my first post towards her but it just irked me that she wouldn’t stop calling you a liar. I just felt I needed to defend you until you were able to come back and defend yourself. Sorry I sort of hijacked your thread though :

Some people have a really bizarre fixation on sniffing out all the non diamonds. It’s creepy!
