It is hard to tell because of the lighting, but from looking at the pictures I would suggest a Copper shimmery color on the outside, above the eyeliner. Either more blush OR a luminous powder on your cheeks. I would also add something lighter near our eyebrows.

its hard to tell because somethme I think I have way too much makeup on bu then in pictures I look basic/normal/pretty. And sometimes my makeup looks good and natural in person, but then I am snapped in a photo and i look haggard.

Do you have a girlfriend or family member willing to take photos of you so you can do different looks and see how it looks on camera?

I just want to be clear that I am talking about the makeup only, i think you are a beautiful girl with an amazing smile

@Payless:  You applied everything really well, you really did- but you have more dramatic makeup for pictures so that you don’t get washed out.  I would try a lighter highlighter- and don’t rub it in, you might have rubbed it off.  Are you using sponge applicators or brushes?  Black might be too much, but a dark dark brown just in the outer corners would make your eyes pop a bit more. I know it seems like a lot, but just pile on the eye shadow- some eye shadows have better pigment than others and need more layers.  In addition to more blush, you also might want to try bronzer to give you a glow.  Put it where your sun would hit your face- cheekbones, nose, etc.  You got this!

@Payless:  Everything is applied well it’s just too light! You should try using a light color in the inner corners of your eyes, a light neutral over your whole lid, and a dark brown in the crease. Also, try putting on more blush.. I can barely see it! The good news is youre beautiful and have great skin so even with minimal make up you’ll look gorgeous, but try some of the darker looks since you have some time ๐Ÿ™‚ YouTube tutorials for sure!

more contouring (highlighting/bronzer) and cheek color would make this more dramatic without being TOO much.

@Payless:  I think it would help if you picked out colors that stand out from your skin tone

@Payless:  I know with Mac eyeshadows if you wet your brush a little before hand, the eyeshadow will go on much darker… I bet that’ll work with any shadow! Just an idea ๐Ÿ™‚

If you can afford it, I HIGHLY recommend the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Your pictures look very every day. I would try a bolder smokey (but not nessecarily black-smokey) shadow look, and a heavier liner on the top, perhaps with some false lashes. I’d do up your blush a little more and add some color and gloss to your lips.

Generally, walmart shadows really suck.. Or at least every one I’ve ever tried from a drugsotre has. There isn’t good color payoff, and they are SO hard to blend. Make sure you get a good eyeshadow primer (urban decay primer potion is magical) or you’ll have creasing and fallout up the wazoo, even with high end makeup.

@Payless:  I think it’s perfect for a wedding day, as long as you use falsies (I recommend individual lashes for a more natural, fluttery affect). I don’t think wedding makeup should be flashy at all. If you don’t normally wear makeup, then it will be too much, and you’ll look unnatural. I’m a huge advocate for natural, beautiful makeup on your wedding day for situations where people don’t usually wear heavy makeup. For me, I won’t even wear any eyeshadow (if I do, it’ll be very natural). I’ll do some liner, and some mascara, and then all of my face makeup (foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter), etc. You don’t have to do anything dramatic, or a smokey eye, or anything like that. I think you should look like yourself on your wedding day.

@Payless:  Nyx’s blush in Desert Rose would be perfect for your skintone. It’d give you a really nice healthy flush, and it’d stand out from your skintone enough to see it in pictures. It’s one of the best blushes on the market, and it’s also one of the cheapest. If you want to spend a little more money (though you usually can get it in a set for pretty cheap), Benefit’s Benetint is beautiful. It looks terrifying, but the trick is to put a few dots on your cheeks and then blend immediately. You can use your fingers, but I use a stippling brush. It gives you a really really healthy beautiful glow. You can also use it as a lip stain. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a kit that it comes in. It also has a great mascara, primer and highlighter in there. Hope all of this helps!
