I know, I know, I said no more ring posts from me. But this isnt about me at least, so thats ok, right? Haha.
I’ve already gotten Alex a tungsten ring, because I know how strong they are, and he works in a factory so he needs a strong ring. But he LOVES bling. Seriously, this guy loves gemstones more than I do! So I figured since his tungsten ring was so cheap, I could also get him a “bling ring” for when he’s not at work.
I have a few picked out that I was trying to decide between.
This abalone ring (he’s seen it before and he loves it)
This mystic topaz ring (its one of his favorite gemstones)
But I was just browsing ebay and came across this stunner. Moonstone is his absolute favorite. It is GORGEOUS. But the bidding doesn’t end for another 6 days, so we’ll have to see if I can win. I really hope I can, he will LOVE it. If only picking out my own ring had been this easy. XD

I love moonstone! This is going to sound super stupid, but I love it even more since reading Harry Potter so very many times, because it connects in my brain to Remus Lupin, my favorite character. Also on the tiara Fleur wore to the wedding. “Diamond and moonstone, I think.” Griphook. …I have so many issues.
That ring is beautiful, though! I’m not typically a fan of the look of men’s rings, but that is lovely!

@ellisrobertson: Haha, I love Harry Potter, so just you mentioning that makes me instantly like you. XD
I’m not a huge fan of mens rings either (way too big and bulky for me) but I seriously gasped when I saw it. Its so freaking pretty.

@ellisrobertson: +1 for the HP reference! 😀
I love the stripes on the moonstone ring. So cool!

Ok, aesthetically, I liked the third one the best but now that it has been associated with Harry Potter, its coolness factor just went up exponentially. Anything that can induce a Harry Potter reference is instantly awesome in my book

I absolutely love the first one 🙂

Good luck winning the moonstone ring. I’m really loving the stone in the second one though. I’ve never actually seen a mystic topaz in real life. Is it that rainbowy all the time?

@allyfally: I LOVE moonstone! Those are really neat and unique.

<3 the moonstone! He’s so lucky that you’re so thoughtful!!!

@Jabberwocky: Well theres TONS of different types of mystic topaz. But yes, most of them do have rainbow effects at all times. I have one thats constantly different shades of blues and purples and the occasional green. I have another that looks clear for the most part, but when you move it its pinks, purples, blues and oranges. The most common mystic topaz is fire, which is usually blues, reds and greens.

Now I’m not so sure I’ll be able to get the moonstone. Its still 5 days away from ending and is already past $100. I wont be able to afford it right now if it goes above $200. =(

I love the first one….the one he’s already seen. That’s wild!

I vote for moonstone! It looks like it could be dressy for different occasions

First one. I just don’t see the other 2 on a guy.
