This is my first official post, I have been on this site several times looking at different hairstyles and vendors, but had never really ventured out to the boards until now! Wow you ladies are great ๐ And what good taste!
I have been dress shopping 6 times! I have found several dresses I thought were beautiful but today was the first time I couldn’t stop smiling and didn’t want to take the dress off! My Maid/Matron of Honor loves it also but the MOG gave a little comment about it maybe being “too much” and her loving a different dress I tried on. (It’s not in the running I felt like a literal cupcake in it ).
All the dresses before this one either was too princessy, too plain, or too over the top for me and then I tried this dress on, it is everything I want: Young, fresh, and different but still elegant.I need some fashion forward brides to give me honest opinions, and felt like this would be the place to do it!
and also I am now thrown off and will need to buy new jewelry, a new hair piece, and not use the veil I was going to use as “something borrowed”. I have a beautiful chocker necklace and large brooch for my hair, but with this dress they would look awful! I believe a red rose would look good in my hair , but what kind of jewelry would go with this neckline and ruffles?? And how should I wear my hair? I have curly hair so something slicked back and tight on top of my head like the model would not look like “me”, and I have heard that you don’t want to look like a different person in your wedding pictures lol.
All honest advice is appreciated, Thanks ladies!!
(Here is a pic off of Mori Lee website, the pic I have the ruffles in the front are a little messed up because I had been messing with them, fluffing them out and flattening them lol )

With such an ornate dress (around your face) I would say less is more. Deffinately wear it up- play with slicked back or lose.
As for jewellery, maybe wear small earrings and wear more detailing in a braclet or something??
You look gorgeous in your dress ๐

Totall agree with pinup. Just braclettes. Maybe like a cuff if you want to make a statement. I would keep what’s on your ears and neck slim to none. Perhaps wearing a jewelled style headband would be a good fit to fufill the bling factor.

definitely no necklace, and i would stick to stud earrings. you can bling out with a big bracelet.
for your hair, slicked back into a messy bun would look great! that way you can still accommodate some of your curls into the bun, but not take away from the neckline.

Holy cow, your dress is FANTASTIC!!!! I would go with small earrings and a big cuff. And for hair, how about a curly, loose bun piled high to keep it away from the neckline? Congrates, you look so great!

What a great dress! And I agree that the less is more theory will work well with jewelery here!

I absolutely agree with panterapeach. I think a Sparkly headband might look great too.

Beautiful dress! I would definitely agree with Miss Pinup… a stud or small dangly earring and a more ornate bracelet. Hair up but doesn’t have to be slicked back if that’s not you. Maybe a more romantic whispy/messy updo would fit you better…
Maybe something like one of these for hair?

Maybe something like these for a hair accessory?

and the heck with what your MOG or anyone else thinks … it’s your wedding not hers! If the dress makes you happy then go for it!

Thanks guys I think it’s fabulous too!! and I guess my suspicions of little jewelry up top is true! I will most definately be wearing some type of bling on my wrist though, since my dress has no embellisment.
Amber311 I like the very first pic you posted, but I do not know if it is formal enough for what I am looking for.
This first pic I LOVE the hairstyle but I do not know if it’ll be too much, with the ruffles on my dress and all.
I also like this:
– the broach and + a rose and some wispies in the front.
Something about the dress’s ruffles is so romantic and I am loving the rose idea. Owell the good thing is my Maid/Matron of Honor is a cosmetologist , so I am sure we will find the perfect hairstyle before the big day.
do you guys think the first hairstyle is too much or romantic?

LOVE it! It’s stunning and looks great on you! I would definitely wear your head up, some small dangly earrings, and a statement bracelet. Skip the necklace. A birdcage veil would look great! Or a simple cathedral if you want something traditional. It won’t “add” to the dress, but will enhance it.

@chrispygal:Thankyou! and I agree I am going to go without a necklace. I love the bird cage veils also! But have tried several on and they all look goofy on me so I will prob. go veil less or a simple cathedral. I prefer Cathedral because anything shorter would mess with the ruffles, but I am getting married in a garden and don’t know how much I can rely on the wind lol.

Pearl earrings, no necklace, show-stopping hair accessory. You’re not going to want to do a traditional veil with this–won’t look right, especially if it’s mantilla. I’d go birdcage or nothing at all in the veil dept. Maybe a pearl bracelet.
