I am SO excited. After an exhaustive search, which included purchasing nearly $2,000 worth of shoes on Zappos, I believe I have found my shoes to go with my Maggie Soterro Geneva dress.
In fact, I think I may have 2 pairs (one for pictures / ceremony, one for dancing).
My first choice is a pair of Stuart Weitzman Turalus in purple satin. Initially I didn’t think they would work because they didn’t come in a size 9.5. But after trying on 2 other pairs of Stuart Weitzmans, I realized that for heels, I actually need a size 10 to give me extra room in the toes (otherwise they get squished). Voila! Zappos had a size 10. And they are beautiful!
The only problem: They are 3 inch heels and make me taller than Fiance (just by a little). Normally he is about 1 inch taller than me, so we are going to put some very small lifts in his shoes, to give him a small boost. We will most likely look to be the same height in our professional photos, or possibly he will be just a smidge taller.
The second pair are Me Too’s Ladon, which are ballet flats that are little more funky with a rhinestone encrusted flower. I’m planning on wearing these while dancing during the reception (after all the obligatory shoe photos and group photos are taken).
Fiance is planning on taking out his inserts when I switch into my flats. Do you think the height change will be obvious? Please tell me no. Please tell me brides do this ALL THE TIME and it’s perfectly normal.
I do have another pair of ballet flats coming tomorrow, but what do you think? Does my plan sound good?
