We’re having a private ceremony in Bora Bora and then a reception when we get home. I have a beautiful fit and flair dress but we are going to do a photoshoot in the ocean so I want something more flowy. I also want it to be completely different than my ceremony dress. I found one dress I love, but I can’t justify spending 1k on something to jump in the ocean with, so I found a bridesmaids dress that is similar and half the price. I just can’t decide which color skirt I like better. You can’t change the color of the top and are pretty limited with skirt options. The sample was in mocha but she brought out the “nude” for me to hold up and get the idea of color. So which one do you like better?
“Nude” skirt. I know it looks really peach, but it wasn’t that bright in person. We tried to get it in natural light but it was cloudy.
My ceremony dress!
What we plan on doing. I don’t care how you feel about TTD sessions and don’t want to hear negative comments like other boards.

I like the Mocha better personally so thats what I voted for 🙂 but whatever you choose will look amazing during your TTD session!

I’m not voting as I do not like the mocha. And I do not like the nude in the photo since it looks pink.
however, if it truly is a nude, I would go with the nude.
however, there are plenty of white flowly dresses in forever21 ($20 range). wetseal, Macy’s, ext. Some are beachy, and some are homecoming/prom dresses ($100 range) and I think white/off white would be better than nude or mocha

Mocha, it’s so soft and pretty!

i don’t think either are the best choice, but between the two? Mocha.

I would go with a flowy white cotton or linen gown!

Quite honestly I don’t feel like the dress is all that flattering on your figure. Your ceremony dress looks amazing on you and gives you a fantastic shape, I just feel like you’d be selling yourself a little short in that second dress.

This is the other dress that I like that’s 1k. I wonder if I could get something similar made that would be cheaper?

I love the idea of the original dress. While those options are similar, they may not be the best execution of the style.
Both of those colors might look like you are swimming in a sheer lace nighty since the “mocha” is sort of tan and the “nude” looks like it blends with your coloring. Nude swimming does not make for good wedding photos.
I’d keep looking but love the look you are going for and agree $1k might be a lot for what you will be doing with the dress.

I feel like the nude colour may not give you much contrast with the sand. Mocha may not be much better. Somethng white would work best.

I don’t like any of the three dresses that you are considering for your TTD photos are flattering on your figure at all. Sorry. The position of the waist line does not do your figure justice and it makes you look plum, when you’re not (Based on the figure of the mermaid dress).

Thank you! I love the first two. I’ve actually bought that second lulu dress but my boobs are way too big for it and it was awful lol.
I was worried about that too. They have white and ivory options on the website but she didn’t mention that in the store so idk if that’s an option or not. I do think that’d look better though.

I completely agree lol But I have gained about 15-20 pounds since I bought my original dress in April. I had a reallyyyy rough year and it defintely shows in my weight right now. But I’ve already started back into the the gym and my healthy habits so I’m getting back down to the mermaid figure!
