This has been a total PITA. Fiance and I want to get married in a religious ceremony in a church/chapel and were going to have a catholic service but for reasons too long to explain that’s not an option if we want to get married next year (I am officially 35 next year so you can consider me “fertility challenged” thus the reason we want to get married quickly).
So I have been busting my ass trying to find a church/chapel in Playa del Carmen that will let us perform an episcopal wedding celebration. And I finally found one!!!!
What do you think? It will be at 6pm in november so it will be a candlelight service. It’s more than we wanted to spend but screw it. If we can book it we can send our save the dates and then I don’t need to think about anything wedding related until the spring (hahahahaha).
What would you do for decor? Colors? Dress?
Thanks bees!

I have been to Playa about 8 times. I love that place. I’ve watched it grow from a few streets to what it is now. It’s a beautiful and wonderful place. The locals are friendly and kind, and the atmosphere is unreal. I’m so excited for you to be getting married there. Fresh flowers and candles would be beautiful in beachy colours I think, whites, sands, ivorys, browns. I love it. A flowy chiffon dress would be gorgeous I think.

@lia22: Thank you! We have both been to Playa before and we LOVE it. It’s such a magical place. I love the color suggestions. What do you think about this dress? I don’t care for chiffon too much and I fell in love with the lace. Our reception will be at a local upscale restuaurant. And then I’ll change and we’ll hit the clubs!

@Penelopeee: love it. really, that dress is perfect! What restaurant? if you havent tried already, while you’re there you need to eat at Tango Taco (Calle 10 norte between 10 and 15 ave) and Casa Mediterranea (5th Avenue, between calle 6 and 8) Best flank steak tacos in the world, just don’t eat the cactus, it’s fkn BITTER lol. And some of the best authentic Italian I’ve ever ever had.
