You did ask, and I’m sure you don’t mind constructive criticism, so I’ll give it…
The dress is gorgeous, and I love the pattern on it and the back, but I’m not convinced about the way it looks on you as it is now. I feel like it should be defining your waist more than it does. Normally you would wear a belt to help with that, but I’m not sure if you could do that they way the pattern is – it would be cutting the pattern that’s over your abdomen in half.
It’s of course possible that it just needs alterations. Also maybe a crinoline or something will help.
To be honest, I don’t like many David’s Bridal lace dresses at all. The details are often lovely, they look great on the model pic, but when you see them on real girls, they just sort of hang there.

What a unique lace pattern and that little sheer panel sp pretty! The fit is fantastic on you! I feel like now a days if a woman has curves the immediate responce is “add a belt” and I’m usually pro belt/sash but I think this dress does so much for you without one!
Also on a side and random thought you have a killer back, could b the way you’re holding the dress but great muscle definition 🙂

Love it! I agree with babycuddlebee:
Would love to see it with a belt!

The details of the dress is stunning! I agree with PP about possibly adding a belt or sash to give your waist some definition. Other than that, I think you look beautiful in it!

It’s stunning and unique! I think it’s amazing. Little “fun-fact” – Oleg Casini was one of Jackie O’s favorite designers! He was famous for creating her skirt suits 🙂

Honestly I don’t love it. I feel like it doesn’t give you the greatest shape and just looks very boring to me overall. Especially since it’s over your budget- personally I wouldn’t get it. I’m positive you can find something that will look much better on you that’s within your budget!!
Good luck 🙂

I had an Oleg Cassini dress and I absolutely loved it, and the quality was great for the price. Now, as others have said – you should keep an eye open for sales, my dress went on sale just before I ordered it and that saved me $100. Also, I’m not sure where you are, but if you’re in Canada – consider buying it in the US. That saved me another $200. Pretty good for a dress that was way under $1000 (ended up paying $675 with tax).

OP, was the dress properly clipped in at your waist? Because it just looks a little boxy. Perhaps with proper fit it won’t look that way though. I personally would stay away from a dress that requires a belt to look good.

I love the style. The shape is beautiful on you, but quite honestly the lace looks less expensive than what they are asking for it in the close up pictures. Quite honestly, I think the 1000 dollar and under is where David’s Bridal excells. For 1650, I think you could buy a nicer quality dress at a local boutique.

Thank you all for your feedback!!!
I’m kicking myself because I was going to ask to try a sash with it, but decided against it because I thought it would be too much. I’m planning on going back within the next few days and trying it on again for my Mom to see, so when I do I will try it with a sash and snap some pics.
In the pictures it definitely isn’t fitting me the right way, I agree. Unfortunately they didn’t have any clips available, but when the consultant was holding it from behind so I could see it in the mirror it was definitely more form fitting.
I agree, I’m usually pro sash (I was actually finding myself falling in love with sashes over dresses, lol) but with this dress I feel like it may me a bit too much…you never know though, so I’ll give it a try 🙂 And thanks so much for the compliment!
I actually came across this once I got home and started researching the dress/designer a bit. How cool 🙂
Thanks for your feedback 🙂 I agree that in the pics the fit looks a little weird, but with alterations I think it will be more figure flattering. I’m pretty simple and was actually surprised I was gravitated towards a dress that was so heavily patterened/beaded, so it surprises me that you say it’s boring! Do you think a sash would liven it up a bit?
Wow, you got a great deal! I’m in the US, so unfortnately that is the price I’d have to pay if I were to buy the dress now. But since it’s a new dress I’m not worried about it being discontinued, so I’m gonna wait it out for a few weeks and see if the price moves.
Thanks again ladies 🙂

I think the issue about the shape can definitely be fixed! If you feel like this dress is for you, go for it! A belt, or maybe nice big earings or a necklace might add more excitement! But then again that’s just me and I love the look of lots of sparkle and feathers and all that lol!!

Thanks! And nothin’s wrong with lots of sparkle and feathers 😉

LOVE THIS!!! That dress is stunning! It looks soooo much more expensive than $1,600! I swore this was some couture designer! Great find!
