lol you have a little over a year so you have time. as for storage i would start stringing them up and hanging them in an empty closet or on a wall (unless you have a cat)i also believe they fold flat if they need to. we wanted to do this but because of time energy and stress it just didnt happen. maybe get your friends to help out?

Is it important you do it yourself? Maybe you could have a crane folding contest at your shower? 🙂

1000 isn’t really so many; three per day.

Good luck! I’d suggest getting a big plastic case and throw them all in there until you’re closer to the date.

@solsticedark: If you only make 5 per day for the next year, you will end up with over 1,800. So, not so crazy, as long as you DON’T procrastinate 🙂

Just do a little at a time! =) And make it fun! Turn on some music, or put on your favorite show, crack a bottle of wine or soda and start stringin! It’ll be worth it in the end when you have it just the way you wanted/pictured! =) I have done my fair share of “OMFG what in the world am I doing right now….seriously…for just your wedding??” then that little voice in the back of my head says “YES! Keep on going!”

Keep going girl! Cant wait to see the finished product! Sounds lovely!

Divide it up into a reasonable number per week.  It’s unrealistic to expect you’ll feel like making them every day.  However, I agree with the PPs that you have ample time to accomplish it!

I agree, it’s totally doable.

If you fold them all, could you get someone else to help you string them closer to the wedding?  I feel if you string them and put them in a box, they might get brutally tangled.

@solsticedark: That’s such a beautiful tradition. You’ll do it and it will be wonderful.

Lol my Fiance makes these and I find them all over the house… the 1st week he learned to make them he knocked out 200 of them (in about 5 days in his free time!) You can do it, they start to get pretty fast and easy after a few =)

Definetly doable if you break it up, you have over 1 year till your wedding. Plus, if you can recruit BFF and SO to help that cuts it down even more…Like one of the posters said it breaks down to about 3 per day..don’t get discouraged.

Not crazy at all! Cranes are super easy and fun; I could churn out dozens a day. Darling Husband makes one out of his ticket stub whenever we go see a movie.
