I really like the way they look together plus you’ve got the sentimental value of both rings. It will be fun for you to explain to people the two different stories for each ring, too. I would get your grandma’s ring resized so that it matches your engagement ring, though. So pretty!

amandajane4949:  I’m gonna echo most of the PPs and say that I like them together. I love the mixed metal look. And I especially love the history behind the band. How incredibly special to be able to use something like that as your wedding band.

I also wanted to post to say: YOU ARE AMAZING!! I am so in awe of your weight loss. Congratulations on that! I believe you are my new inspiration and hero. (This sounds very stalker-ish when I type it out loud. Sorry about that. :S)

amandajane4949:  great job on the weight loss! And as for the ring I agree just size the ring so it would match your engagement ring. i like that they are different. My wedding band  does not totally match my eng ring either! 😉

amandajane4949:  You are a beautiful lady — before and after! You must be so proud of your accomplishment, and I am so incredibly happy for you. I’m trying to lose around the same amount of weight, so your post and pics really are inspiring to me. Thank you so much for sharing them and a little of your story, too.

I think to mix metals successfully, there needs to still be a little similarity between the two rings – width, scale, or profile. The yellow gold ring, while sentimental, doesn’t have the same kind of profile as your e-ring, which does two things: it either makes your e-ring look way too big for your finger, or makes the wedding band look too tight. I like the sentiment, but i think there are better options and the yellow gold band would look lovely as a right hand ring.
