Get the top dress, it's ready to go as-is and you've wanted it for forever now

Take a risk and go for the second one, more unique, lots of leftover money if you want to change it!

“Now I’m still unsure though as the seller says she is not sure the neckline in front would stand up if I cut it down the middle or if it would flop over… which would mean I’d have to remove it entirely if that didn’t work out and I don’t know if I want to do that and lose the sheer back thing.”

i wouldn’t worry too much about that, the seamstress can sew in a stiff backing to help provide structure, or it could be starched which might work better for that fabric, ask them specifically about it.  but more than likely you will need some double stick body tape.  i had to use it for mine, and that neckline was original.  for mine the stiff backing didn’t really help as it still flopped over, it just flopped over more stiffly lol!

since you have extra lace to cover the panels in the bodice, i don’t think you’d even notice them beyond maybe a seam line, but that wouldn’t look bad or take away from the dress.

btw i friggin love that last dress you posted up…LOVE!!

I say go with the 1st dress…how could you pass it up??? it’s beautiful! And…you have always wanted it. When are you ever going to get this day to do over? Never. I would hate for you to look back on your wedding day and wonder “what if” or have regrets how your gown.  That feels terrible. Believe me…I’ve been there.
