Cross your fingers, and say a little prayer for me, ladies! I just finished up the job interview/tryout for the pastry position that I was talking about on this thread, and I think I may end up getting the job! The executive chef is going to have the owners try out my desserts later tonight, but he, the GM/Wine Director, and the sous chef all really liked them! And they liked the presentation, too!! Woo hoo!!
I should know more tomorrow, and we’ve yet to even touch on wages/salary, so who knows how that will go. But for now, I just wanted to say, Yay!! And thank you all so much for your helpful feedback and kind words of encouragement. You rock! I leave you with an update of the second dessert, which is how I ended up serving it today, thanks to Bee feedback:

If your food tastes anywhere near as good as it looks, you’ve already got it! Now drive down to Texas and bring that food with you!

Update: Well, I kind of have the job – they are giving me a 30-day trial period. So I’ll be working for them for 30 days, plus keeping my existing job (fortunately, it’s been really slow there lately and I haven’t gotten many hours…so I guess that’s a good thing in this case!). Oh yeah, and I’ll be starting a new round of classes at school next week, which average about 20 hours of class time per week. And continuing to plan my wedding.
This is going to be a busy 30 days!

Oof–sounds like you’ll be crazy busy, but if your trial is anything to go by, I think you’ll do awesome. Good luck and congrats!
