I think I am starting to have dress regret!
I ordered my dress a couple of weeks ago and while i love it, it is not what i originally wanted. I love this dress because it is flattering (it hides my big hips) it fits me well, it was within my budget, and it is a beautiful dress, but i originally wanted a lace dress.
I have paid for my dress and probably cant afford to order a new one but i cant help but think i will be disappointed on the day for 2 reasons: my dress is not lace, and it is not white.
Here is the dress i ordered (Nicolina 8265) :
And here are 2 dresses i also love (Maggie Sottero Catarina and Allure 8770):
I thought maybe if i change the neckline on my dress to a sweetheart i might think differently, but my fellow bees convinced me it looked fine the way it is and the beading would not be as nice if the neckline was changed.
The store i ordered my Nicolina from also stock Maggie Sottero. What do you think? Should i look into changing my dress?

I think the dress you bought is beautiful! I don’t think changing it to sweetheart is a bad idea, and it might make you more enthusiastic.
I know after looking at so many gorgeous dresses that it is difficult to feel satisfied by ONE, but you really do look beautiful in that dress.

I think you look beautiful in your gown 🙂
If you want more lace, you could add a lace bolero and/or ask the seamstress to add the same lace that is on the bodice over the skirt part of the dress. You could still have the bodice overlay the skirt, so you wouldn’t lose the scalloped design.

I have to say I think your dress is the nicest one of the choices and will look fab with a sweatheart neckline.
I also had dress doubt and went to try on another dress I had my eye on. Luckily for me I realised I prefered the one I already had – risky strategy but it worked for me.

@MrsP2011: I love your dress, and I think it would fantastic with a sweetheart

I think your dress is beautiful!! I was worried after I put the deposit on my dress as well- I think that’s just a normal reaction. It’s a big part of the wedding and it’s intimidating to have to make a decision. I found that the things I liked changed over time as well- once you start to see dresses in person they can seem really different from the pics. Don’t torture yourself by looking at other dresses, just focus on how you can accessorize your dress- you can add lots of lace details like a more detailed veil or a bolero.

I think a lot of us go through this. There’s always that time when you think you made the wrong choice. When I started having dress regret because I ordered a dress I didn’t imagine myself in, I just went in and tried on more dresses. After seeing that “my dream dresses” looked awful on me and that I couldn’t stop thinking about the dress I had ordered, and finally, after trying it again, I realized that I had made the right choice.
You look great!! Your dress it’s beautiful!! I doubt that you will have regrets on your big day. I recommend that you go back to the store and try it again, just so you’re sure. If in the end you don’t like it, you can always sell it and buy another one. But if I were you, I would keep it, because you look fantastic!

I love your current dress and like the suggestion above to add lace to it if you like. The bodice detail mimics lace in a way. Why not try a lacier ribbon tie at the waist instead of the solid satin? Not sure what that would do but it is worth a try. Also like the lace bolero suggestion. Perhaps a lace wrap would satisfy your lace craving? What do you think?

I really think you made the perfect choice with the dress you ordered- it is GORGEOUS! Like others have said, I think if you end up not getting what you thought you wanted in the first place & get something totally unexpected, you’ll have regret. But honestly, the dress looks stunning on you and it’s beautiful- you have great taste! Maybe add something lace like the PP suggested? A veil or sash?

I think your dress is gorgeous and looks amazing on you! I know how hard it is to not fall in love with other dresses, which is why I went out of my way not to look at or try on dresses after I bought mine. Just remember, you fell in love with it for a reason and you’ll look amazing on your wedding day 🙂

I really like your dress and think it looks fantastic on you. It’s different but very classic. Did you try on the other Maggie dresses while you were there? If you did, and you picked this one, then stop worrying – you made the right choice.

You look so amazing in your dress!!!!!

I think your dress is lovely and the detailing on the bodice reminds me of lace.

I think you picked the perfect dress. I have lace dress regret all of the time. I ordered a satin dress and I always poke through the lace dresses when I have to go to the bridal store for something. Keep the dress you have.

I love your dress and it looks beautiful on you. I don’t think the other two are better than the one you have and actually I like the mix of the lace bodice and the non lace skirt.
If changing the neckline to a sweetheart will make you more excited about the dress you should definitely go for it! I think the beading will look just as pretty.
I think a lot of us go through it. It’s because there’s a ton of pressure to find THE perfect dress because it’s the most important dress of our lives. Actually, there can be more than one dress that is perfect for anyone. And the dress you have is perfect on you.
I have doubts about my dress all the time. When I was dress hunting, I was set on finding a dress that was more timeless, classic, and simple. I bought the dress that I thought fit those requirements and now I worry that it’s not unique enough. haha If I had gotten a more unique dress, I would probably be worried that it’s too trendy or something. haha
