mrsdfarrar6714:  EWCM typically means ovulation. It is the easiet cm for sperm to swim through!. When you get a positive OPK you O within 24-48 (if i remember correctly) This cycle- i had EWCM on cd 9 and 10. On cd13 i got a + opk. my cm was watery (which is second best to ewcm) then i believe i o’d on cd14.

Idk how much that helps you as i am still new to htis too!

Most people ovulate 24-48 hours AFTER a positive OPK.  EWCM usually means O is still coming but, there is the possibility of fertile cervical mucus after ovulation http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Eggwhite-Cervical-Fluid-after-Ovulation.html

OPKs don’t tell you that you ovulated for sure though.  It’s possible to get a + OPK and not ovulate and then have more fertile cervical mucus as your body gears up again.

Temping is really the only way to know which days you hit for sure and that you’re actually ovulating.

Are you sure the opk was positive? I’d BD again until ewcm is gone just in case…

If you have EWCM, have sex! It’s worth a shot. Even with temping, it’s hard to know exactly when your window is closed.

Temping is awesome by the way.

mrsdfarrar6714:  I don’t chart either, but have been paying attention to CM. I have had Ewcm the last 4 days I have checked and I’m cd 22. DH and k have just been BD every Dat since CD14 and plan to until my cm dries up or I get a BFP or AF lol. Last cycle as a whacky 39 days (typically 30-31) so we have a long ways to go haha.

mrsdfarrar6714:  I’m blessed with easily falling back asleep. So I just set my alarm early every day (like 5:30 in your case) took my temp and went back to sleep. Then when I woke up for real, I’d check my temp and write it down. Sadly, after a few months my $8 thermometer started loosing its memory sometimes. So I’d have to write it down at 5:30am which took a bit more effort, but still worth it. It was awesome to see the temperature patterns and know for sure what’s going on in my body.

I’ve been confused with EWCM this cycle, too! I don’t know what to think about OPKs this cycle, because they were positive, negative, and then positive again a few days later. I’ve had several days of EWCM over the last week, and we’ve BD’d 3 times during those days. Considering my OPKs have been weird, I’m hoping the EWCM was a good indicator!
