If your guests havent already made plans for travel in April, I don’t see why it is a problem to change the date.

Can your vendors just use your deposits for a different date?

If you just announced it but didn’t send out Save-The-Date Cards I don’t think its too late…

Plus now a days you really can get away using whatever colors you want anytime of the year!!  In the end noone really cares/remembers about what colors you use, they care about how good the food and the environment was!!  If in your heart you feel you’d rather go with a day that is more significant, I say do it!  Whats another 7 months??

@peachbaby4008: I would say just contact all the vendors and if you can change the date with them, I think you have plenty of time to tell your guests about the new date.

As long as it doesnt inconvenience your guests overall (which I imagine it won’t because you are doing this far in advance) go ahead and have the date your heart is set on! 🙂

I know exactly how you feel.  Fiance and i wanted october 6th because thats the date when we decided to be in an exclusive relationship.  And, also, conviently for us it is also a saturday in 2012.  But, unfortunatly I just found out that that date is booked in the church i want.  (not for a wedding, they have a festival every year on the first sat of octobter that i completely forgot about).  So now we have to decide if we want to change the date ( i really don’t want to) or change the church/venue (i really don’t want to).  My mom is trying to be totally supportive of everything, and I told her today “i just don’t know if any other date feels “right.”” I *might* be on board with oct 20th because that is “sweetest day” which i think would be cute for a wedding.

Basically I just want to say I understand about the date thing.  But as for waiting so long to get married, I’m happy about it.  I want to enjoy being engaged.   Not going to lie.  I love the attention.  And it gives us more time to save up.  I suggest you make up a list of the pros and cons and see which way the tables tilt.

we have just booked for 11th August 2012,  but never thought it would have been great to have got married on the anniversary of the day we met,  which luckily its a Saturday next year…..and it would only mean bringing the wedding forward 3 weeks….21st July……Grrrrr!    but the Save the dates have gone to print now and the venue  and regisstrar are booked……never mind.

If you really have your heart set on the November date then go for it.  It’s better not to live with any regrets.

@peachbaby4008: Hey!! I was on the exact same situation!

My fiance & I started dating on July 23rd 2009, & when we got engaged last october, we thought it would be perfect to get married 7.23.11 (our 2 year anniversary)… but things just didnt work out…

his brother (who is also engaged)  announced their date before us, they picked july 2nd…

anywhoo.. there was a big issue because they did not like that we wanted our wedding just 3 weeks apart from them & my Fiance & I had to change our dream date…. :/

i was very sad for a while but learned to love our new date…

& my Fiance said, it would be grate to celebrate both anniversaries :]

so dont put the wedding off so long just for a date,

you can always celebrate both dates! :]

BUT is you must!! then I don’t see why anyone should stop you…

at the end, its all about your Fiance & You!

Good luck!!
