Warning, this is going to be a bit long.
So, I’ve been struggling with the urge to try on my dress again since last month. Today, nobody’s home, I decided to go for it anyway. Now, the last time I tried it on, I couldn’t zip it up after gaining a few pounds over a couple of weeks time. Since then, I’ve lost those added pounds and then some so I figured, it should fit now the way it did when I picked it up before, right? WRONG!
I could get the zipper past my waist now, but for some reason, I couldn’t hook the top part. My chest is getting in the way, and I think it’s because the seamstress put darts in from before. Still, I don’t think I gained any in that area. So anyway, stubborn me, I twisted the dress around and somehow managed to hook the dress with with the back opening at my side. And then I twisted the dress back again to face front.. and this is where I think I broke it. I might have been gripping the bodice too tight, I dont know, but I think a thread broke and I noticed there were beads falling off!!!
I was able to find a “bald” are on the bodice where a thread was sticking out. I think it’s where the beads fell from. I tried my best to put a knot on the thread, but it’s still sticking out. Can you see it?
I was already freaking out, but I tried to be calm and I took this big picture of the bodice. Do you think it’s noticeable? The bald spot will be on the upper right.
And here are some if the beads I was able to find. What do you think? Should I panic?? If I can’t wear this dress, I’m out over 2000+ over nothing I know it’s my fault but I really want to wear this dress too!

I was not able to find any bald spot!!! It looks perfectly fine I am sure you are just paranoid but you have nothing to worry about!

i can’t tell to be honest

I can see it in the close up, but I can’t on the 2nd pic. I don’t think you ruined it. If you’re worried enough about it take it and the beads to a seamstress and I’m sure they could fix it up for you, it might cost a bit, but nothing near the dress or finding a new one. Don’t stress!

I’m sorry this happened but everything is fixable so don’t worry so much.
1) It is a lot harder to zip a dress up yourself, and you actually make your rib cage/chest area larger when trying to zip yourself up – so don’t worry about that! And if your seamstress put darts in, she can take them out!
2) You cannot notice the ‘bald’ spot at all, there is so much beading that noone would ever notice. However, I know that it sucks to ruin something you love. What I would do is keep the beads, show the seamstress, and she will reattach them!
Good luck and try not to let it bug you too much!

So NOT noticeable at all! Relax you have nothing to worry about. I would still bring it to the streamstress to fix just in case, better to be safe than sorry.

I see NOTHING. Calm down. For future reference, trying on wedding dresses is a TEAM SPORT not a solo activity lol. Stick on some tummy minimizes spanx, have a friend come over and get you in to it. All will be good 😀

I can’t see it, but I do know that a seamstress can fix it. When my friend was shopping for gowns, she was considering a beaded sample and there were clearly loose threads and beads missing and the consultant assured her that if she purchased the sample, the seamstress would fix all of that and put in beads where they were missing. So, I’m sure the same can be done for you!

I can’t see it. I didn’t look super close but I did stare at it for a solid 15-20 seconds 🙂 I think it’s okay.

I can’t see anything in the pics, but you can save the beads and take it to a seamestress to have them sewn back on if you want.

Wow! Thanks for the quick feedback.
Thank you ladies… I’m feeling better now. Whew! I promise I won’t touch it again unless I have someone who can help me.

I had a where’s waldo moment trying to find the bald spot. After looking at it for 5 minutes, I still could not find waldo 🙂 It truly is a gorgeous dress
