Get the veil. I have learned FI’s don’t care about much of anything bridal. Most just show up lol. It’s the only time you will get to wear it. I say go for it. It’s very pretty and it will look lovely On you.

When he heard “veil,” I’m sure he thought of a cathedral length veil, or something puffy that goes over your face and he’s supposed to lift it back. Most guys don’t even know what a birdcage veil is.

Get it (or make one like it). It’s your outfit, & I’m sure your Fiance will love your look when he sees you. My husband said that he doesn’t like veils, either, but I wore one anyway, because I wanted to.

My hair was about your length when I got married.  I was going to wear it down, then last minute decided to do a teased pompadour.  I thought I wanted a birdcage veil, then decided to go with a hair comb instead.  Check out my hair comb [post moderated for self promotion].  From the looks of your dress, a veil would look really Jackie-o, but I can totally related not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on a veil.   You could get a white headband and clue some tullle to it?   Just a thought…

@CocoLoco523:  Definitely wear the veil. It will make you feel more “bridal” on the day of and you want something that is a little different for your special day.

@CocoLoco523:  Whenever I ask my FH something wedding related he will give his opinion and input but closes with: “In the end it’s whatever you want., I am just there to marry you and once you walk in no one will notice me anyways.” Mine is excited too. It’s just different being the bride. It doesn’t matter if its a big affair or something simple. Its your moment to own it! Whether you buy it or DIY, you deserve to wear one.

@CocoLoco523:  🙂 In the end I would love to see what you go with. Have you checked on etsy for the veils? They have some nice ones very affordable too.

    Lol…

This is WHY every Bride should adhere to Rule # 1

DON’T TELL YOUR GUY A THING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING LOOK

    LET IT BE A SURPRISE

Guaranteed… they’ll be wowed over even if you wore a gunny sack !!!

Agree with Tangled: … guys don’t know much about anything Bridal (let alone women’s fashion in general)…

So when he heard the word veil he envisioned something elaborate… and knowing that you guys are having a courthouse wedding he couldn’t see that being a good idea / go well together

    — — —

I think your Bridal Look is stunning… go with your gut.  Do whatever you feel looks good / makes you feel like a million bucks on YOUR BIG DAY

    You will rock it… he’ll LOVE it… I promise

    Best Wishes,
