I tried on my dress for the 1st time outside of the bridal salon. I hate it! It fits stupid ( I know I need to have it altered) I swore I was not going to get a mermaid style dress and its not but its a really low waist and my hips and belly look huge and fat and stupid. I hate it and I can’t do anything about it because Alfred Angelo doesn’t accept returns and I wanna cry!

If it has a seam at the low waist and you need to have the hem taken up, just have them move the waist up from the seam instead of cutting off the bottom. I had them modify the length of the bodice on my dress so that it gave me a better hourglass shape, it might make a difference in where the focus is on the dress.

Think about what you loved about the dress when you bought it. Maybe that will make you reconsider. Do you really hate it? If so, you have time. You can buy another dress.

@mcnetn3: Agreed! There is a way around just about every fitting issue with a good seamstress!

You girls are awesome. There really are so many things I love about the dress, the main problem is there are so many things I hate about myself. Good grief what would I do if I was getting married in a time without the internet? Probably have a nervous breakdown.
