So I found this set-up on my officiant’s wife’s wedding planner facebook and then kind of added from there. I think I’ve decided, given the background scenery, to just go with the one color of purple (I was originally contemplating doing 2 or 4 diff colors for my bridesmaids) and then I’ve put together what I think will be the flowers for my diy bouquets…thoughts? The flowers in the bottom middle are a brighter purple than they appear in the image, and I think it’s a nice way to incorporate the blue in as well…do they look ok together??

Our friends did their beach wedding with royal blue-dark purple-silver as their palette and it worked great for that setting.

@djenah79: It looks great! I don’t see many blue/purple/white floral beach wedding combos, but that looks beautiful!
Also, out of curiosity, what are the details on that bridesmaid dress? It’s lovely!

Thanks everyone! I was struggling with the purple/blue combo because I was worried it would be too much since both of the colors are so strong. It’s not a combo I’ve seen much of either, but really like the blue for the beach setting!
The set up is from Island Bliss Weddings in St Thomas, the dress is actually a convertible dress from thedaintyard on Etsy so it can be worn in many different styles (it comes with a matching bandeau and costs only about $70 after shipping and everything), and the flowers are from afloral.com.
It’s such a relief when you get something crossed of your to do list, isn’t it?! Less than 6 months to go!!

@djenah79: I have been looking at ordering the convertible dresses from the dainty yard on etsy. just wanted to see if your girls have ordered them yet and what you think of them?

@bride36: Yes – We got them…I am in love with them!! I got 2 for myself (well, one my daughter will be wearing for the wedding, and I got a different color, so we’ll technically be sharing them both) I wish it was warm out so I could wear it now…I kind of want one in every color…lol. My daughter (14) even wants to wear it to school cuz she likes it so much too. The fabric is very comfortable and soft and flowy and I can see how it would fit anyone of any shape. Here is a pic I snapped quick of it with one way to wear it – I also love it as a strapless…I’m having fun playing around with all the different ways to wear it, and the color is beautiful. This purple one is the one for my wedding – I also got it in royal blue.
