I took a break… in 2010.  I have been out of school for over a year and keep coming up with excuses as to why I can’t go back just get.  I know I eventually will, but it’s harder to get motivated.  The thing is that I DO miss going to school, but guess I’m also worried that I may be wasting my time going back for what I love – elementary education.

@sleepingbeauty88: Definitely makes sense.  I’m 23 too and I wore myself out at 21.  I went back to college two years after graduating high school so I pushed myself hard to get through four years.  I really, really want to go back too and i can keep the job I have now and not worry too much.  It’s an option.  Just need to push myself.

@sleepingbeauty88: I always gave full credit to those who could work full time or have kids at home and still be a full time student.  I can’t do it either.  I focus on one thing and that’s about it.  I’m a perfectionist.  I did really, really good in school too until my spring semester in 2010.  I was so worn out and failing two classes.  I dropped everything so I wouldn’t hurt my 3.8 GPA.

@sleepingbeauty88: Yep, I could use a break. I took 3 years off between high school and college, went to a community college for three years and am now almost finished at a 4-year university (just 2 years for me though). One semester left. I am so ready for it to be over though – I shouldn’t be doing this at 25 while I’m engaged, that’s for sure.

@sleepingbeauty88: Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous. Plus I only want to do wedding stuff, not school stuff, haha. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate already, but hopefully you won’t have to wait til you’re 30 if you don’t want to! 🙂

I’m back in school almost a decade after graduating with a BScH in Kin.

I’m in a 1-calendar-year intensive program that crams in all the required courses and hours that one would usually get in a 2 or 3-year program.

It’s great, but I’m 2 weeks away from finishing the second semester and I’m so burned out. I feel like I don’t care anymore.

I have the winter semester off (for work), and I can’t wait.  I don’t think I could have done all 3 semesters back-to-back.

@sleepingbeauty88:  yeah: they do warn us ahead of time it’s crazy-intense, with only 2 week breaks between semesters.  But for many of us (we’re mostly mature students), spending 2 or 3 years with summer breaks isn’t a viable option.

I just keep telling myself at least it will be over soon. How much longer for you?
