hmmm soo far….
weve decided the bridal party
picked the venu…..(putting a big ol check down next WEEK! to have it paid in full!! YAY! its what our pastor and church wedding coordinator reccomended!)
next week we are looking at 3 different reception locations!!
Officially picked colors
I bought 2 tall vases to do a trial of our centerpieces!!
I have my hairstylest and make up person! Of course i cheated a wee bit!! Shes my sissy and does this for all my important events and is 1 of 2 people on the planet who can get my hair to stay curled or do anything besides just lay there for more then 20 minutes!!!
We officially crossed the first bench mark we set for our wedding savings account/honeymoon account!! we did this so we wouldnt be pulling wedding costs out of savings account incase of unforseen incidents!
ummm and i think right now thats about it!!
for my to do list this month…..I want to
-book reception site so i can move forward with decoration ideas
-price and talk to at least 2 of my ideal photographers! (Holy Sh** is wedding photography expensive!)
so my bee’s where are you in this whirlwind that is wedding planning!!! I feel like im behind on somethings because some of our top choices are already being booked and we are BARLEY getting them for ourselves…..we got super lucky on our church because another couple changed their mind last minute and went the weekend after ours!!

- Wedding: October 2014 - UK
@kansas_nurse: Hey, you’ve been super-organised!
– Got most of the bridal party sorted
– Booked the church and reception venue
– Booked the photographer
– Bought my dress (just this last Saturday!)
– Picked out my ring, hopefully should be ordering it tomorrow
To-do in the next couple of months:
– start looking around florists to get quotes for bouquets, and talk to lady who decorates the church about doing flowers for the ceremony.
It’s all very exciting!

We’ve been VERY busy 🙂
so far we have:
– Reception w/ Catering
– Ceremony musicians
– Cake (though haven’t signed the contract yet since my mom is buying this for us
– wedding dress
– lighting (no contract signed yet since we don’t have the ceremony location yet)
– Bridal party
– bridesmaids dresses picked out
– guest list nearly finalized
– rough draft of the timeline
… I feel like i’m missing stuff
In August we meet with our top 3 photographers 🙂
I can’t stop doing wedding related things, and my mom isn’t any help! 😀
Gawh! I love every moment of planning!

Well, I have already been engaged for 14 months now so most of what i have done already was done last year.
– ceremony/reception venue booked
– photographer booked (our engagement photos are tomorrow!)
– dress is ordered! (ordered in May)
– Shoes bought
– Made my own statement necklace
– bought a few gifts for the BM’s. When I see something nice and on sale, I don’t pass it up- got them each robes (for $11 each!) and a couple of necklaces so far
– MIL’s gift (she picked out earrings that were one of a kind and the last ones… she drooled over them so I went back and got them)
– Have met with about 6 different caterers. Waiting to her back from a few more before we book that
That’s it I think… Goal is to book caterer and DJ this summer. Then the big stuff is DONE,details can be hashed out next year and decor and stuff will be contracted for rental just after xmas

Oh wow, y’all are making me feel like a slacker, lol. I’ve been engaged since September and I haven’t booked anything yet. I know who I want for everything, except maybe my DJ, just nothing set in stone. I should probably get on it though.

I’ve been engaged since last July (Friday the 13th…) and pretty much just started this month. My dress was the first thing I got. Here’s a picture of a model wearing it because why not 🙂
I’ve also found a potential venue and photographer. I’ll be meeting up with both of them on Monday (wedding is about an hour out of town for me so I want to get this all done in one go). If all goes well, the venue I’m looking at includes ceremony + reception + officiant + catering + day-of coordinator… I seriously hope I get it. The venue has 5 rooms of different sizes. They only have one room left on October 18th, and it just happens to be the room size we need.
I really hope this works out, I just wanna look at pictures of flowers all day.

@Nails_Polished: Haha i feel you! It is hard to kind of rein back a little with the scouting flowers and things of that nature!! your a bit ahead of me ive tried on one bridal dress….so im hoping to do so this fall….

@kansas_nurse: you’ve done loads! People always look at me like I’m kinda crazy when I tell them I’ve started planning!
I have done a few things…
Bought supplies for DIY invites
Ordered chair sashes
I’ve been getting quotes for favours, cake, flowers, cars, rings (met with an amazing ring designer on Monday!). I want to start ordering/booking more things but I’m focussing on getting the best price I can possibly get so lots of haggling until I commit!

@linnylou_88: thats what were doing, we actually got them to lower our venue price when we pointed out that the price they wanted us to pay was the sames as it would be in june or july when they are booked through the nose….and we may have mentioned the other church we looked at had a smidge lower price….lol….
I think booking early is my favorite part because i can hagle, and its already saving us money…and i can buy bits and pieces at a time!

@kansas_nurse: I was not planning to get my dress this early AT ALL! My mom just really wanted to go shopping with me, and… well, there it was.
I’m honestly a little sad that I didn’t get to try on more dresses, haha. But it just wouldn’t seem right if you know what I mean?
Also, re: planning time — I actually had to change my wedding date because my (hopeful) photographer AND venue were booked on the one I’d originally wanted (October 4, not sure if my profile still says that). I actually didn’t think it would be a problem this far in advance… I really should have done my homework!
Unfortunately it’s making my mom start to get a bit of a premature planning bug. She asked me yesterday if I’ve started researching hair salons. Oi.

@Nails_Polished: haha….my mom is going nuts too…lol….she wants to know which BM dresses, if ive picked a cake, ect….its cute! lol glad to hear your planning is going well!

Haha. I’m glad I’m not the only one there 😀 I’m an only child, so my mother’s getting pretty into it.
