Hey guys would love some opinions on a few things dress related…..
I tried the Allure 8859 on over the weekend and loved the way it made me look and feel so I’m think it’s the one.
I’m concerned about a few things tho…
Firstly my partner want to go quite casual and wear a plaid shirt and vest, possibly a suit jacket, but he will be rocking a boho type look… the grooms men will be is mismatched plaid shirts and pants but all have matching vests and the girls will be in mismatched neutral toned short dresses. So all in all my wedding party is more on the causual boho/indie side of things. I feel like the style and bling on this dress doesnt quite fit with the rest of the party.
I tried on the diamond white color and while I thought it looked great with my blonde hair and paleish skin tone…. I’m thinking the more muted white color of the ivory would better suit with the rest of the wedding party… but i havent seen this dress in ivory, in person so Im not completely sure it’ll suit me, im just going with the general idea that ivory suits fair skin and blondes.
lastly, I’m very confused as to how I approach the hair acessories, I planned to have my hair out in an old hollywood curls type style… but i also would love to wear a simple cap veil or even a flower crown… but I’m thinking both just wouldn’t suit the dress. I feel like some kind of simple silver hair comb would most suit the hair style and dress, but I just don’t think that will give me enough wow factor.
Sorry this is a bit to process, but any thoughts would be super helpful. I just want to work out a way to tie it all together….

I mean… no, the dress doesn’t really match the same look and feel as everyone else but hey, you’re the bride! You are supposed to stand out! If it’s the dress you love, you can make it work.
I’m dark haired but very pale and I went with diamond white. It looked white in pictures but was warmer than stark white and suited my skin tone much better. Stark white doesn’t look as good on pale ladies, IMO. I do think you need to look for another satin Allure dress in Ivory so you can see the color though. I’m sure a bridal salon somewhere in your area has one, just to see the fabric so you can make an informed decision.
As for your third question, I agree that I don’t think either the veil or the flower crown match the dress. Why not do a really whimsical hair flower? Not this one specifically, but something with a similar feel.
I think something like that would be cute enough to go with your boho look but if it’s got a bit of feather and crystal, glam enough to match the dress.
P.S. I was an Allure bride too!

Hmmm thanks for the input!!! I quite like the flower, do you think maybe if i found a flower with a small birdcage veil maybe??
I love a lot of the Allure dresses…and they are such great prices… Which was yours?
I also had the thought of all the bling off the dress and replacing it with something that will give a more boho type look but I’m not entirely sure how I would go about that and if it would work out well or not.

Removing the bling will depend on how it is attached. Satin will show any imperfections, so you may ruin the dress if the beading is embroidered straight onto the fabric. Some designers are willing to make alterations to designs. I know Casablanca does but I’m not sure about Allure. Its worth seeing if they are willing to.
I think a flower and a birdcage would be cute with that dress and be a better middle ground between your dress and the boho feel of everything else.
I wore Allure 8771
I just noticed your post count. Welcome to the Hive, by the way!
