Hey guys, im a long term reader and have seen the lovely advice you have all given on dresses and so wanted some opinions as i’m having dress doubts!
I thought I had decided on my dress but after going back to the shop and trying it on again I’m having doubts and just need some reassurance i guess! I’ve tried on countless dresses but i’ve never had that “this is the one” moment which is why I think i’m second guessing myself as I don’t want to settle for a dress.
This is the dress I have liked the most so far, its essence of australia d1247
My main concern about this dress is that the beading down the sides will irritate my arms….has anyone else had this problem or am I just being overly picky?

That’s a beautiful dress- the cut looks great on you! Can’t help you out with the beading question, but let me ask you this- when you try it on, do you not want to take it off? I think that’s “the sign” that it’s the right dress. Or if you want to keep admiring yourself in the mirror. 🙂

That dress is beautiful and fits you like a glove. Not sure about the beading. I think it would irritate me, but things like that tend to bother me.
Did it irritate you when you were trying on the dress? thats the first question i’d be asking myself

@rebwana: thank you! i know i definately want this cut as I am very slender and bigger dresses seemed to swamp me! when i first tried it on i definately had that i don’t want to take it off feeling, the second time not so much…i still thought it was beautiful but im not sure if it was because i worked myself up so much about it with doubt.
@Toastymama: thank you it was actually a couple sizes too big so would be slightly tighter if i ordered it in my size, but i do love the fit of it! it didn’t irritate me as such but i was aware of it which is why i think its worried me

It looks great. The beading may irritate a little, but trust me, on the day you will not even notice 😉

I think this is perfect for you and I love the beading! Even if it’s annoying -put up with it LOL, it’s gorgeous. You look like that dress was made for you!

The dress is gorgeous and if it feels right, then you should totally go for it!
However, if by saying that you were aware of the beading you mean that your arms were brushing it a bit, I would be wary of it. You only tried it on for a brief period, but if you have to wear it for a full day, it will be more likely to rub your arms and eventually it would irritate them.
Did you try searching Google for anyone else mentioning this dress to see if it was an issue? It really does look great on you! Good luck!

@maryaz: yeh this is what im worried about, I don’t want to get half way through the day and be wanting to take it off….but i guess there are plenty of other brides out there who have had beading on the bodice who i would assume would have had the same issue but either not realise or just dealt with it. yeh i’ve looked online but i think its a pretty new dress so can’t find anyone else who has had it would be helpful if i could!

Love it and it does look great on your figure. My dress had beading on the top of the front of the dress and it didn’t give me any difficulty

I think it looks wonderful but if you’re going to remember the day for how sore your underarms got… maybe it’s not worth it.
Full disclosure that I’m normally not crazy about beading myself. My dress has exactly zero on it.

@subjunctivitis: i see what your saying and i’m not a fan of beading myself which is why i was surprised i liked this dress…but there’s something holding me back. so confused

That is a beautiful dress, and you look great in it! I’m not sure about the beading… I once wore a dress that was all sequence on the side, and I had such a good night, that i didn’t really notice. The next day I had a rash on my arm from it, but dang… I looked good. As my grandmother used to say, “Beauty is pain”. 🙂 But if its more beading then sequence, it should be ok. May you can run your hand up and down it to see if it feels scratchy?
