@hiroshymatetrastar:  So dress number 1 is just over $200? I know you will feel you’ve wasted your money on the white and purple one if you don’t use it, but for an extra $200 I think I’d definitely go for the alternative.

@hiroshymatetrastar:  Yes I can understand why, have a think for a few days, talk to some friends or family and see what they say. I say follow your heart not your head on this matter!

If you can get one of the new ones for $200, go for it.

You can offset any guilt by donating your current wedding gown to a worthy charity — then you won’t have to spend any time feeling like you were wasteful or over-indulgent.

I think all of the new gowns are prettier than the one you currently own.

Two hundred dollars is chump change when you think of a lifetime of memories. Don’t try to save $200 by wearing a gown you don’t want anymore. You’re going to be looking at those wedding photos for many years after the $200 is long forgotten.

    P.S. – #1 is gorrrrgeous!

@hiroshymatetrastar:  Well it’s you who will be wearing the dress, if you are wondering what you could have looked like on your big day, thinking you could have looked even better then you will feel anxious and regretful. An extra $200 isn’t a huge amount, sorry if you’ve already mentioned this but did you say you made a hurried decision in picking the white and purple one? If so, don’t worry about it – you’re only human and everyone makes mistakes. Not that the first dress is a mistake but you know what I mean? At the end of the day it’s just my opinion, I’m sure plenty of others would prefer your original dress to the new ideas you’ve picked.

@hiroshymatetrastar:  I think you should buy the new one. I agree that your current dress doesn’t really fit a Spring wedding. I think you should go for #1. I bought a dress on a whim about a year before my wedding. I was immediately wracked with dress regret. I loved the dress, but it didn’t look right on me at all, nor did it fit my wedding. I ended up having a meltdown with my mom, who took my out the next day to start searching again. I ended up finding THE ONE. I am still happy, to this day, that I didn’t wear my first one.

I ended up selling my original dress on OnceWed for what I paid for it.

I voted number three as it is closest to belle. I do think you should change but any of the four would be great.

For only $200, I think it’s well worth it to order and then decide between the two. If you aren’t happy and will regret that original dress, then don’t settle. The new ones do look more spring-time that the satin one, and you may be happier with a lighter material for comfort reasons regardless of what the dresses look like.
