I heard that they’ll replace it. Although it looks beautiful to me (judging from those pics). I have a moissy FB and it gets moody in cloudy weather.

Well, I don’t really know much about moissanite, but I will say that some CZ rings are so white that they’re almost TOO white/almost blue white in some lighting, so, maybe it’s a good idea not to compare your ring with your CZ?

Also, what is the difference between a Forever Brilliant and a Forever One moissanite? Will the company permit you to exchange your FB for a Forever One?

First cloudy/overcast days are not mossys friend so that is a part of your problem. Second is you comparing it with a CZ. Go to a jewelery store and compare it with a I-K diamond and you will be happier.

p1ally:  it depends on the setting but also the individual. Some people are more colour sensitive than others while others love that bit of particular colour. Plus it’s colour can be quite different to that of a diamond and can throw a person off.

But obviously it does bother you or else you wouldn’t have made this topic or be worrying about it. Personally I would try and get an exchange, if it’s bothering you it’s only going to keep on and you are then going to regret it.

Cz’s are so unaturally white, it’s not a fair comparison. A diamond would look warm next to an icey white cz. In my opinion your moissanite looks fine. It’s going to show some warmth on overcast days, especially in a car. I see no green what so ever.

p1ally:  I think it looks great and I actually turned the screen to my husband and asked him what colours both stones were and he said your moissy looks white and slightly bluish. Do you have a video ew can look at instead? Maybe pictures in more different lighting scenarios?

p1ally:  I don’t see any green/ yellow,  only the amount of warmth one would expect to see in a fb moissanite.  I do agree with MrsSparkleBee13 that comparing it to the stark white color of a cz is an apples and oranges comparison, though!  I have a classic moissy, and cloudy days, and in the car lighting always brings out the warm color of the stone,  but I actually find this to be a good quality, as I do the super colorful sparkle that a moissanite emits! Other than those times,  it’s nice and white and sparkly, I’d say comparable in color to a J  diamond, if I had to venture a guess, and most people think that’s what it is unless I correct them.

If it really is bothersome to you, you might be able to try to exchange it for a whiter fb (hand picked? )stone or pay the difference for a forever one?  Fwiw, I think it’s an absolutely breathtakingly beautiful ring! The stone,  the setting,  the size, and color, all suit your hand perfectly!  Whatever you decide to do,  I hope you wind up 100% thrilled with your ring!

Well I can see green tint in moissanite, even the FB, so I don’t think you got an unusual stone. And diamonds may be warm, but they don’t have green undertones. If you want a whiter stone get an Amora gem/Forever 1.

FB’s have a mind of their own.  But in non direct sunlight you never know what you’re going to get. Comparing it next to a cz isn’t a really good test.  If you don’t like it you could always contact them.  But remember it’s never going to be Forever One bright white, or even amora white.  If you want to send it back I recommend paying for an upgraded stone and getting the forever one.  You will probably be happier with that grade than the FB.  Good luck!

Mine does look buttery/ has a yellow tint to it. In other light it looks cloudy.  It’s supposed to be a forever brilliant by Charles and Couvard. I have a 6mm centre stone -.75 carat diamond equivalent stone set in a platinum halo band. My wedding bad is platinum with 1/3 diamonds.

Im going to change the centre stone

mrsbass :  I see the yellow shade more in your stone than I do the original poster

for both of you I would suggest to contact the seller you got the ring from. If it’s a new ring, you should be able to exchange the stone or upgrade to a colourless one. If it’s Forever Brilliant it should be in the GHI range – near colourless – so have them either exchange to a better FB, or upgrade to an F1.

I don’t know anything about moissanite but my diamond ring, which I believe is J color, always looks a lot better right after I clean it, and I use hand cream a lot so I’ve realized that I really need to clean it everyday. Maybe it’s collected some residue since the first time you looked at it and just needs to be cleaned.

mishybear :  thanks for the reply. I will replace the centre stone. Darling Husband originally got me a ring with 4 small centre diamonds. I was never really in love with it so we agreed I’d get a new ring set as I’d want, hence this ring. I wanted something discrete and not gum ball machine like and I thought a smaller moissonite wouldn’t show many imperfections.

Im definitely taking the ring back and getting a better stone
