I ordered my veil from a bridal shop in PA last November. When I ordered it they told me it would come in around January. January came and went, as did February, and I finally decided to give them a call at the beginning of March. When I called they said “It looks like it should come in this week. We’ll give you a call when it does.” A month passes and they never call. Finally I gave them another call earlier this week and they told me that they were too busy to look it up but would call me back later in the day. I wasn’t surprised when they never did. I called them the next day and refused to let them off of the phone until they checked on the veil. They put me on hold and eventually the woman came back on the phone and said “It has actually been here the whole time. You can come and pick it up.”
During this whole process, I took some time to actually read the reviews for the shop. There is one review where the girl claims that the salon gave her the store’s sample dress altered down to an 8 instead of ordering her one. The dress had clearly been altered and still had the size 10 tag in it. I became concerned that the salon was pulling the same thing with me so when I went to pick up the veil I was very careful to check that all of the beading was strong and that none of the fabric was ripped or worn. Everything looked fine so I took the veil home. When I pulled into my driveway, I decided to pull my veil out in the sunlight and noticed two black curly hairs on it. Clearly someone had tried this veil on and it wasn’t ordered just for me. I am still fuming about it, but I’m not sure what to do. I think that if I go back to the store they will just deny it, but I feel totally ripped off having paid $250 for a sample veil. Ugh.
