I know it’s a little late for figuring out our invitations since it’s t-minus 4 months till the wedding. … but I think we finally figured out what we want to do! We are doing the invites completely DIY and have finally put together a prototype!
I got the tutorial on how to make a good pocketfold invitation from under the DIY tab.
I hope the link works.
We are not sure if we want to try and do the printing ourself or take it to Kinkos or something similar. Does anyone have any suggestion on that?
The inserts are just plain paper for this example, but they will be printed on cardstock. Man it’s such a relief having this done!

I think it looks great! I love those colors together!

Thanks! I was really worried that they wouldn’t come out. I know my Future Mother-In-Law was really skeptical when I told her Navy Blue and Green.
We picked up our first batch of cardstock from Hobby Lobby today! We have to go back later in the week to get more since we cleaned them out! haha Best part was all their scrapbooking paper is 50% off this week 🙂 Floral stems were 50% off too so picked up some of those for the centerpieces. (Real flowers are just way out of budget)

My fiance’s and my wedding is July 24th also and we are still deciding on invitations too! It’s kind of stressful… but I’m happy for you that you have decided on yours! You must feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders… Now on to the printing, cutting, assembling, etc etc! Good luck!

Love it! Your pocketfolds turned out so cute!
What did you make the band out of? I’m looking to do something similar.

I love it!! I have hopes of creating DIY invitations that look as great as yours!! What are your fonts and where did you find the swirls? Also, do you know how much it will cost to mail your invites?

Those are super cute! I am so glad that I’m not the only July 24 bride that hasn’t figured this out yet! 🙂

Ooh, very pretty! The pocket fold looks fabulous, and that navy is beautiful.

Thanks Everyone 🙂 We spent a lot of time putting together a design so I’m glad it was all worth it!
It make me feel much better knowing there are other July 24th brides that haven’t locked down invites either! I thought I was the only one :o) It feels so nice to know what we are going to do. Quite the relief for sure.
Now it’s just putting everything together. I Haven’t decided if I’m looking forward to that or not… haha
@miss root – We just bought some striped printed 12×12 cardstock (which was also 50% off at Hobby Lobby!) and cut it into 1in strips. Then we just glued it to the outside of the pocketfold.
@Steak – I’m not sure how much it’s going to cost to mail them yet. We still have to take one to the post office, and to make sure we can send the RSVP as a postcard. We got the smaller swirl off the clip art menu in office and one free one from the internet. We used 2 fonts, the wording is in Kozuka Gothic Pro L and our names are in Honey Script. If you are going to make your own pocketfolds one thing I would suggest is that you will want to score your folds so they are crisp and clean.
Thanks again everyone 🙂
