Congratulations. I wish you every happiness.

However, I am concerned for the women reading this who may be influenced to wait years and years. It doesn’t usually work out this way.

ruby-glitters :  Congratulations!  I’m in the same boat as you,  I had been with my other half for almost the same time as well.    I went through the same experiences as you, had a lot of naysayers over the years, saying leave him, he is only with you because of sex or money.  My favourite “Why hasn’t he not asked you to marry him?” after telling people we have been together for over a decade.

Thoughts of why wouldn’t he want marry me?  Everyone else is engaged or married, blah blah blah.   When is it ever going to be me?  I even accepted the fact that he just doesn’t want to be married and I too settled for just being his life long partner.

Our SOs must think a like because on a spontenous whim this week he put a deposit on a ring.  It wasn’t even the cheap costume ring it was a proper engagment ring.

Your engagement sounds so beautiful.  Is there photos of your beautiful ring?

weddingmaven :  I agree with you,  being with someone for that long is not for everyone.

When I met my SO I was young and he was the first and only serious relationship I have had.  I love my SO to bits and by no means we are a perfect couple as we have had our ups and downs, seperations and reconciling over the years.

We bought a house and are living together.   All relationships are different but I think  you would have to have patience if you are dealing with someone who just dwaddles in life.

Congratulations, what wonderful news! Do post pics of your arc-reactor metal and space-diamond ring, I am very curious!

almostmrsbee :  since Vibrainium isn’t a metal that actually exists I’m guessing she got titanium and moissanite (space diamond). I’d like to see too ☺

Wowzers!  Amazing!  Not sure I would have had the courage to wait that long.  Glad he finally gave you what you deserve.  Best wishes for the future!
