I’ve had the same problem. It seems like a moissy band is just as much as a diamond one. I’m wearing cz right now and really want something that will hold up longer. Following for advise.

If you can find a gold full-eternity band with 2.5-3mm diamonds for $500 you better snatch it up fast! It’s an amazing cost. I’d double check that, however, that they are real diamonds, and it’s not silver. I think a moissanite ring like that is going to run you $600+ USD.

The small moissanite aren’t really much different in price than small diamonds – if you buy a moissanite ring, and have the choice of pave stones on the shank, you’ll usually notice that the difference between real diamonds and moissanite is $150-4200.

I’d love to see the links for the bands you have been looking at that are so cheap! I bought a 2.5mm moissanite eternity band last summer, but would happily add a diamond eternity if I could get one for $500.

Small diamonds are very affordable because there basically a biproduct of cutting big diamonds. Moissanite is more rare in smaller sizes so it’s not much cheaper. Plus if any fall out you’re in big trouble trying to find a replacement. I’d say go for what you want, but in a  diamond and keep the 3/4 so it can be resized in the future. I would even suggest going to 1/2 eternity. You really can’t tell that the diamonds end, its more affordable, more comfortable, and easier to resize.

As far as vendors, I love ASweetPear on Etsy and they are very affordable.

I’ve seen names of many vendors here before – as well as links.

I can see thin bands with tiny diamonds being cheaper than moissanite, but I’ve never seen anything 2.5-3 mm size that cheap. I might be breaking out the credit card tonight if someone is selling diamonds that cheap!!

Out of curiosity I checked a few diamond websites.  James Allen has a pretty solid reputation as being affordable.  This eternity ring has 3mm diamonds, 14k gold, and its $5000

An equivalent Moissanite e-band is still quite a bit less expensive in comparison (but much more than $500 sadly)

CarolinaJames :  CZ gets pretty cloudy over time, and sometimes it’s hard to find in a precious metal setting. I’d opt for second hand if I were you. Have you checked out LoupeTroop, DiamondBistro, RubyLane, eBay or local pawn shops?

CarolinaJames :  A 2.5mm – 3mm eternity band is actually pretty wide and you’re not going to find something new in the $500 range.  I had an eternity band that I lost and it was maybe 2mm, if that, and it was over $1,000.

I would look at the preowned sites that a couple of people mentioned.  I would also caution against full eternity as I didn’t find it very comfortable.
