I would start by trying on something similar and seeing how it looks before you stress.

Jasmine’s Bridal? They can make you areplica for a fraction of the cost! And for I’m sure just as good quality as DB.

When is the next time you’ll be visiting your parents? I think you and your mom should plan to go have you try on the dress, to see how you like it in real life. Maybe that will also give you some time to save up the extra $$?

Don’t panic! Your wedding is over a year away. By then, one of these two things will have happened:

1. The dress will go on sale.

2. Someone will buy the dress, in your size, and put it up for sale.

Even if they don’t, in this case a Jasmine’s version would be an excellent choice. The dress is not particularly complicated, would be easy to copy, cut to your exact size and – since the orignal dress would be made in China too – not a whole lot different.

You have plenty of time to have your dream dress made….I suggest contacting Jasmines bridal and at least getting a quote!

Whelp. I’m no help. My budget was also $500 and my dress was $952 after tax.

@tallierand:  It would depend on shops near you and what they carry. How did you feel in the strapless tea length? Do you wear crew neck, short sleeved shirts and feel comfortable in them?
