samiraaa :  I used Wix and have had tons of people tell me how gorgeous it is. I think it takes some minimal knowledge of what you’re doing on a computer though. If you think wedding websites are some sort of new-fangled thing, maybe it’s not the right choice? It was really fun though!

I wouldn’t agree that a paid service is nescesarily better than a free one. Lots of times paid ones will take out ads, for example, but it’s not any easier to build.

Anyway, good luck! Maybe you can ask a friend who is good at computers to help you out!

I used Riley & Grey and my own URL. I forget the cost. It took me a few hours to get it perfect. They even custom designed a page at no extra charge.

samiraaa :  I am very careful with what I post online, but there are samples here: http://www.rileygrey.com. Mine looks a lot like the black and white one with the horns.

We use The Knot. It is completely free and really convenient to accept all RSVP’s there and our guests can also select what they want to eat at the reception and RSVP for the rehearsal dinner. No paying for postage!

We also included all our engagement session photos and the story of how we met and the proposal. We listed our wedding party and I added my fav memory with each bridesmaid. I loved personalizing it.

We used the knot as well. Unfortunately most of our guest didn’t even know we had one or pay that much attention to it other than to look at pics of the bridal party despite our URL being printed on the invitations. We initially thought we would allow guest to RSVP through the website as a way to “force” them into using it however the knot allowed guest to go in and add people to their party that weren’t initially invited. ( I had a bridesmaid and my mom test this out for me) Unfortunately their wasn’t a way to stop people from adding uninvited guest so we ended up just turning the RSVP feature off completely.

so many options out there for wedding websites – i used weddingwire – there is a canadian and american version – so choose either…. weddingwire.com or wedding.ca (which ever applies to you)
I have a friend who used the knot and was happy with it.
