Vitamin E supplements are supposed to help, along with prenatal vitamins.

I agree with Gingersnap about the vitamine E. I also use Mane and Tail shampoo and Conditioner. My hair is growing long and thick alot quicker than usual. I get my supply from the local feed store. I tried the one from Wal-mart, and it’s not the same.

Healthy hair will grow faster than not healthy hair- so cut out as much blow drying, straightening, hot rolling, towel drying etc as you can. It also doesn’t break as easily, so it may grow longer. Limit your colouring/chemicals as well to keep your hair as healthy as possible until as close to October as possible. Try to avoid chlorine, because that can also cause damage to your hair, which will prevent growth. Make sure your diet allows for hair growth (proper nutrition, vitamins etc). Good luck!

I’ve heard vitamin E and fish oil tablets help but never worked for me. I use organic shampoo which keeps my hair so much healthier and softer, which makes it grow faster. That is not using heating tools (blow dryer, curling iron, etc).

I know when my sister takes prenatal vitamins her hair grows like nobodys business! I also second the mane and tail hair products cause those really do help get you some length. Don’t buy from a supermarket tho! Go to your local feed store!

I don’t know how much you are planning on spending, but I’ve been using Bumble and bumble and they really help my hair stay healthy and stong, it’s much longer than i can usually get it. Also, if you don’t want to cut out heat styling their products really help stop the damage (I use kerastase heat protection product)

I started taking prenatal vitamins when I found out I was pregnant a few days after Christmas. My hair was a few inches passed my shoulders. Now, it’s half way down my back. It has grown SOOO fast since I started taking them. I’ve been slacking a little & havent had a trim in a while, otherwise it would probably be a little bit longer.

My hair is down to my waist and I will tell you my secret… but you may not like it… I only wash it once a week. Now before everyone gets grossed out, my scalp is used to this. It takes 5 days before it gets oily enough to need to be kept in a ponytail compared to many people who need to do it daily. I also do not use heat or hair styling products on it unless I am going out somewhere nice. I let it air dry and use a decent hair brush to prevent split ends.

Its not everyones cup of tea, but my hair is very long and healthy so I know it works! 🙂

@sbharkness83: Make sure you put conditioner in your hair before you get in the pool… it will help keep your hair from soaking up all the chlorine!

Ditto on the prenatals. My hair has grown like nobody’s business. My nails, too…I think I have to trim them about once a week.

@Bears-bub: Not grossed out at all. It’s healthier for your hair to not wash it everyday. I cut back to every other day, and I now wash it about twice a week. And when I do wash it, I only shampoo my scalp and roots, and then condition. I don’t know if it improves the length any, but my hair is never looked better.

@Bears-bub: thats not gross at all, i know alot of people do it and i especially do it and my hair dress told me its better as natural oils that come out of the scalp are good for your hair.

To the OP have you thought about clip in hair extensions? they may be a bit expensive but they get the job done. Im looking at getting some and even tho that are expensive its totally worth it and the bonus is you can use it when you go out other times.

Feed stores are for getting food for animals 🙂

The mane and tail was designed for equine use to help hair growth and health because horse hair takes AGES to grow. But it was adapted to humans. I have heard, in PP and elsewhere, that if you want really good results you should use the one from the feed store because they aren’t the same thing.
