How does she want you all to enter? I’ve never seen it done another way, but I’ve never been to a wedding in England either!

I think in the Royal wedding (which was church of England) Kate’s Bridesmaid or Best Man followed her (Pippa). Not sure if it is a rule!

In the US, the BMs and Maid/Matron of Honor always go before the bride.

I Google searched it, and apparently it is custom in the UK for the bride to go first, right?

The problem I see with having some before and some after is that people might think the processional is done after you come in, and the MOH’s entrance could be overlooked. That might be why she is concerned.

In the end, it’s your day, but I would have a sit-down talk with her about her concerns. Try to understand what she’s thinking and see if the two of you can come to an agreement.

I am in the EXACT same situation! I’m getting married in the Church of England, but I’m American, so I’m used to bridesmaids going in first and the bride being the “Grand Finale” of the processional…and that’s what I want, dammit!

I don’t have any answers for you, as I don’t meet with our vicar until December, but I’m subscribing to this thread in case anyone else has any answers!

Thats weird! The bride should always be last so all eyers are on her.

@drummerbride:  That’s what makes sense to me too, but… *shrugs* cultural differences.
