alfalfasprout10518 :  the title of this made me laugh out loud because I think i must have had the same thought right in the front of my mind 24/7 from the time the photos were taken to when we received them 8 WEEKS LATER. I nearly drove my husband crazy but the photographer told me 9 weeks when I emailed her asking about progress so they were a little earlier than expected. I think that’s the norm but on the bright side the pictures were absolutely beautiful. Try to stay patient, it will be worth it!

alfalfasprout10518 :  I can;t say from experience because I have not had my wedding yet, but I have heard about 2 months is the norm. It seems like a long time, but think of it from the phortograpehrs perspective. They probably took aty a minimum of 1000 photo’s. They then have to go through every single one, choose the best ones and edit them. Editing can take a reallllllyyyy long time. Especially because you also have to remember that every weekend they are probably shooting another wedding, and working on photo’s for other weddings as well.

My late brother was a photographer and though he didnt often shoot weddings, when really in the zone he would spend up to 2 weeks editing just one photo for a client!

Try to be patient! You’re already a month down! 🙂

Completely normal if you have a good photographer who’s taking the time to curate, edit, etc. the photos. My wedding was 10/14 and we got our pictures on 12/12.

I got married the end of July and got my photos the end of September, so I would say 2 months is pretty standard.

I’m a photographer – it’s usually 6-8 weeks for me. 2 months is totally normal.

I got mine in 6 weeks, but 8 weeks is definitely not abnormal

alfalfasprout10518 :  If they are a popular wedding photographer who spends a lot of time editing, 8+ weeks are fine (especially if your photos were shot in the dark!). Double check your contract to see when they said they should get them back to you.

I got married the week before you and don’t have my pics back yet either, but should have them soon. I would say 2 months is very normal.

I actually got my 600+ photos, edited and all, in a week, and sneak peaks almost every day before that (in Canada). So happy I didn’t have to wait too long!

I had a similar wait – 12 weeks! It’ll fly by and it’ll be that much better when you receive them as it will be like the wedding happened all over again!

We got ours exactly 1 month after the wedding, but our photographer was getting married shortly after that, and I am assuming she was working hard to finalize her galleries so as to enjoy her wedding!

Damn. We got married October 20 and I was hoping to have them for Christmas cards. Oh well. I want my photographer to have the time he needs, so I guess it’ll be a pic of the cat again for Christmas. Lol.

I would say 1-3 months is normal for a small to mid size wedding.
