Is anyone else going stir crazy out there?
I am going crazy waiting for my wedding band to arrive!
DH and I eloped at Christmas, so I already have my e-ring, but it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I finally (after much, much searching and shopping around) picked out a wedding band that I love.
We had to special order it in my size and it should be here sometime within the next two weeks, three weeks at the most.
I can’t stop dreaming of my gorgeous ring… I can’t wait to have it on my finger!
Is anyone else out there in waiting mode? If so, post your vents here! LOL
In the meantime here is a pic of my beauty, not a great pic but I snapped it at the jewelry counter. It is the smaller band, a one carat eternity ring. I think of it constantly!

I am waiting for my engagement ring. My fiance proposed 8 months ago and wanted to pick out my ring together. I decided to have my grandma’s diamond made into a custom bezel-set design. I was really with school and I also had trouble deciding on the design of the ring so I only got around to it last month. It will be ready in less than a month! I am so excited now! My fiance is going to pick it up and surprise me. It will be like a second proposal!
I waited so long that I think his family was wondering if I really wanted to marry him. 🙂 Now I can show everyone that it is official!!

My wait is over but your post reminded me of the agony! I had my ring custom-made and waited about two months for it to be finished so all I’d seen was a sketch and the diamonds that would be used. On the day, I couldn’t find anywhere to park and it was really raining hard. I got absolutely soaked as I trekked to the jeweller. As I came in, sodden to the skin, the lovely lady said to me: “Your day’s about to get soo much better!” And she was right. That first sight of my hand-made ring made my day. It’s worth the wait…hang in there! This is what I saw in the through rain-soaked eyes that day:

My ring will be here Friday! I can’t wait. But….it will be locked up soon after waiting for the proposal. Hopefully I don’t have to wait too long!!!

i’m currently waiting for SO to propose… i know that it will be late June/early July, but i’m still sick of waiting. 🙁 i’ve seen the ring and i know where it is, but i’m trying to show some restraint and not look at it until the proposal!

gaaaaah i could have written this post several times over these past few weeks!
I’m waiting on my unofficial wedding set (I have a wedding band which is not moving hands as it’s what we got married with, but I really wanted a right hand ring set with our original diamond from my commitment ring from years ago) It’s a custom set and my god it’s taking forever. We handed over the stone and the deposit on May 10th, and the jeweller estimated 4 weeks to completion (this was up from the 3 weeks she originally quoted, grr) Then she replied to an email I sent about the progress stating that the metal didnt even arrive until the 18th may, so she would start making it the following monday the 21st GRR GRR GRR. She said she’d let me know about the progress but it’s now the 29th and no word….can you tell I’m a tad obsessed, might I even say, neurotic?! lol! I actually pathetically keep my phone on me at all times just in case she calls, and check my email *daily (read, several times a day lol). It is like waiting for christmas as a kid, so I’m worried it wil feel like a huge anti-climax but at least enough time has passed now that i’m not driving myself nuts with minor niggles and design issues. I would just very much love to have our little sparkler on my finger!

I’m still waiting on my custom e-ring (that we ordered 11 weeks ago and they said 4-6 weeks turn around time…) AND my wedding band. Gulp.
EDIT: Post inspired me to call the jeweler. Engagement Ring will be in tomorrow!

I’m waiting for SO to propose but I want the ring!! We looked at a couple and I’m not sure which one it is but I’m sure it will be beautiful 🙂 He’s got it hidden somewhere at his parents’ house so I can’t look for it in the meantime. Not that I would ant to ruin his surprise

I finally picked up my wedding band today after 2.5 mos. of hassle and a “bait and switch” with the jeweler. Grrr… // I love eternity bands! I’m such a klutz that I had to get a half eternity because I’m sure I’ll knock diamonds out.

I’m right there with you. “I” wanted Fiance to put the ring on layaway to give me time to lose the additional weight so the ring could be ordered in my correct size AFTER my massive weight loss. Not to mention earn a little interest on our money in the bank especially since were paying for our own wedding. It’s been agony waiting to get it on my hands but I know it’s for the best in the long run.

We got engaged in February but aren’t buying a ring yet. I know it’s not what’s important, but I waaaant a ring sometimes, I just want to have something round around my left ring finger so I can look engaged finally

Thanks for the replies, ladies! It feels good to commiserate and know we’re not the only ones going crazy!
Roe, I’m glad the post inspired you to make that phone call… congrats on getting your ring tomorrow!
Anyway, someone out there somewhere must have heard my rant, because today I got that phone call…. the ring arrived! They told us it would be 4-6 weeks and it ended up being two weeks and two days. LOL!
I rushed there after work and put it right on…. ahhh! Tonight I am bonding with my ring and getting used to the feel of it on my finger. It is very rainy weather here today so I didn’t get to admire it sparkling in the sun on my way home, the way I had hoped. So I went to Panera because on a previous thread, someone posted that the lights at Panera make your rings sparkle like crazy… they were right! It’s almost like jewelry store lighting in there! I just wanted to be dazzled by my ring and I wasn’t disappointed!
Anyway, good luck with the waiting, ladies!

The lighting is not that great at home tonight… the center stone on my e-ring looks blurry but this is what the wedding band looks like. I am elated!

The jeweler has had my e-ring for 3 weeks, using it as a model for a custom wedding band. The e-ring has some intricate carving and borders and I’m ok with them wanting to follow the pattern to make the wedding band look a good match, but they quoted me 2 weeks and now are telling me “hopefully” next week…. grrrr… it will be worth the wait, without a doubt, but I’m paranoid they will lose the e-ring…
