i have been wondering the same thing. My hair will be close to shoulder length by my wedding and i would like to have long hair, but i dont want to deal with clip ins.
I’ve never done bonded before but I loooooooove my clip ins!!
Can I ask why you want bonded instead of clip in? Are you wanting the individually bonded strands or the bigger pieces that are bonded in a strip?
I had bonded extensions before; I liked them when I had them, but let me tell you they ruined my hair. I got them done at a very well-known & reputable salon in NYC, and my stylist warned me this may happen—and boy, was she right. I still don’t think my haor has ever recovered.
The same stylist ordered me in the same hair she would use for bonded extensions (real human, virgin hair-randomly she gets all of her hair from India), measured my head, and had custom clips sewn in them, then stripped and highlighted them to match my color, and cut to match my length/style. They are amazing and 100’s better than the bonds. They can be cut and colored and used over and over again. Besides looking and feeling better, being much more versatile, they also last much, much longer and are cheaper in the long run. I bring them with me when I get my hair done and my stylist fixes them right up. I also love to get blowouts, and I bring them with me and whoever does my blowout easily puts them in too. I have never had a problem with them falling out or people not thinking its my real hair.
Obviously I canot rave more about this! Good luck with your do!
i want the bonded extensions because i want them to be in all the time. I feel weird about coming home after the wedding night and taking off my lashes,my bra cups and my hair…lol something about that paints a bizzare picture in my mind. I am also worried about the clip ins irritating my scalp and being itching. At least with the bonded ones they will bug you at first but you will get used to them after a few days.
I will probably just go for the clip in because a set of bonded extensions in toronto goes for $700-$1000… a bit too rich for my blood
I literally wear my clips all the tim. I sleep in them and everything…just take out to shower/wash them. The clips don’t bother me at all. But then again they are custom made and were pretty expensive—more expensive than the bonded ones actually. Not sure if the custom fit really makes a difference in terms of wearability and durability though.
I just bought the clip-in extensions.. I have really thin/fine hair and wanted them just for the fullness, and so I can have a pretty up-do for the wedding. 🙂 I LOVE them! Well worth the $100!
i spent 1300$ for bonded hair extensions. they were So Cap brand. Biggest mistake I EVER made. they completely destroyed my hair. they were also very heavy, and made it really difficult to wash, dry and style my hair. clip ins are SO much easier and will not completely ruin your natural hair.
This was over 2 years ago and my hair is STILL recovering 🙁
@sweetpeony: Yes. I got the 14″ extensions (I forget the brand and left the pkg at a friends house) and they ended up costing $95 total. My friend/neighbor/hair stylist suggested them and since she’s the one that will be doing my hair wedding day I took her advice.
