Heres the Dress I am thinking of ordering:
The ONLY reason I am not ordering it RIGHT now for, is the beading on top, I think its too much, and I really wish it had a sweetheart neckline :/
Does anybody know if Davids Bridal does like,… I dunno, custom ordering or altering before they ship? I wander how much this would cost if they did?

@alyssars1: David’s Bridal won’t alter the design of the dress at all.
I wonder if there is any way you could remove some of the beading, so it doesn’t seem so overwhelming to you? You would have to get alterations at a different place, because David’s wouldn’t do it.
I think its a beautiful dress! You look great.

Dang, Id really perfer no beading but I wouldnt wanna mess it up :/

DB won’t alter, but I think your dress is stunning!

Altering it shouldn’t be a problem but it would have to be after you order it.
You can get it altered into the neckline you want and have the beading removed, but don’t use David’s Bridal alteration team. They are notoriously unskilled and have botched dresses.
Try to find someone in your neighborhood who does alterations (nd has done wedding dress alterations) or take it to a bridal store.
You should know that a bridal store will charge you an extra fee for getting a dress fixed that was not ordered there.

THe neckline always has a bit of a dip in the center, I wouldnt really alter that into a sweetheart because it will interfere with the beading

It’s mostly likely appliqué …all those little things are sewn onto backing and the backing is attached to the dress. It isn’t hard to remove appliqué.
It looks like this off the dress:

I probably wouldn’t mess with it… youd end up spending as much on alterations (removing beading, etc) as the dress costs! But there are other similar dresses out there!
Very similar, but with less embellishment up top: http://www.morilee.com/bridals/blu/4907

I think the dress is really pretty and making it a sweetheart would be no problem and maybe would make the beading look better? And if not…so easy to take the beading off!

I know it’s all personal preference, but have you tried on dresses with sweetheart necklines?
I love that slightly dipped neckline on you, and think that the sweetheart might not be as flattering to your chest.

That dress is beautiful, & looks fabulous on you! What style # is it?
David’s also has WG3263, which doesn’t have the beading up top, but in lace, with a sweetheart neckline, & the ruching. The pictures online & in the catalog are awful, but it’s beautiful in person when on…. You could dress it up with a nice beaded/rhinestone sash, & there wouldn’t be any fancy up top….

I bought a similar dress for a similar price… (I was a little sad to not see anything like my dress anywhere! until I saw that DB was carring this one)
It is by Forever Yours … I’m not a fan of the beading on mine but its a lot less! and the top was huge anyways so I’m hopping that the seamstress has to take it off to make the top fit!

If you really do not like the top of the dress you’re considering, I would keep looking. There are SOOOO many bridal gowns out there, and the bees have offered you some good suggestions about where to find some of them. I wish you much success in finding a dress that you will absolutely love!

If you’d need to fix so much on it, I’d keep looking.
That being said, it looks amazing on you. It’s a beautiful dress!
