Hi Bee Bee!

I would encourage you to see a counselor to help you deal with the loss of your mom and the stresses that you are dealing with.   We all have dealt with emotional break downs, I too have posted on the emotional page here on WB, and received great encouragement as well.  But nothing comes close to talking, crying, and letting it all out to a professional.

We both are very lucky to have such supportive men in our lives, sounds like you picked a great guy to be your husband!  It is very hard to accept that your Future Mother-In-Law is nothing like your own mom, and it is very hard to accept that your mom is not here to help you through the ups and downs of planning a wedding and becoming a new wife.  Just accept your Future Mother-In-Law for who she is and let your hubby deal with her.  Find another lady who fits closer to your mom’s personality.  Let that lady become someone you can turn to in times of crisis, a mentor so to speak, to help you.

Please look into help in dealing with your loss.  Losing a parent is very hard to go through.  I lost my mom when I was 6yrs old, and I still broke down crying thinking about her not being with me when I picked out my dress, helping me with the wedding planning, and being at our wedding.  I know she is up in Heaven and always by my side, but it is still hard, even as a grown woman, to accept the loss of your mom.

Giving you big hugs!!! Thank you for opening up..sorry you had a break down at work..I’ve been there done that too!  Know in your heart that God has given you a wonderful man to be your husband.  Lean on him and don’t hesitate to express your feelings to him.

Take care and good luck!

P.S.-from one Catholic to another, confession is a good thing!  You mentioned another reason why you wanted to get married sooner..living together “in sin”.  I know that guilt as well..get it out.  Innocent confess and accept forgiveness.  God already knows that you are living together before your wedding, it’s up to you to come clean with your feelings on this one, through confession.  Just a suggestion! Wink

Good luck, Bee Bee. So glad you made the choice that will make you happiest! My parents told me when we announced our engagement “We love you. Whatever you want, that’s what we want for you…whether it’s church or on a boat or elopement. Just as long as you are happy.” We ended up planning not a big church wedding but a tiny wedding in a park, with cake and chapagne. Later, we will go to a restaurant with the immediate family…yup, in gown and tux! I look at it this way…it’s the one time in my life I get dessert before supper! =-)

Just saw this post. Just had to comment. I think the Cabatto’s is beautiful. I’m glad you worked everything out.
