I have 6 weeks until my wedding & 7 days until my alterations for my dress….problem is I can’t pick & stick….I have 2 dresses that I can not decide upon! When I finally think I’ve decided on one….I think about not wearing the other & viseversa! My Maid/Matron of Honor & close friend think I’m crazy & my mom….well she doesn’t know there are two to decide between
Now I’m a big girl who is paying for the dresses myself – but why why can’t I decide???? I think it is the last time I’m going to be able to dress up like this & that is what is making it soooo hard! When I have asked opinions people think both dresses are pretty but prefer dress A ~ I think dress A is more understated than the ballgowny dress B. Ballgown dress B is much more expensive than A – made of silk, hand beading & sooooo not something people would think I would pick….but I can’t seem to get it out of my head! ha!
Why do we as brides worry soooo much & too much about what others will think about our dress or our look….our moms, our Future hubbies, sisteres….people we haven’t seen in years???? Are we just pleasers??? I know my FH will think I’m amazing in anything & I’m sure my inner glow from saying “I do” to the man of my dreams will surely put any dress to shame…..but why do I have that little voice in back of my head saying…..but so & so all said they like dress A better….
JEEZ…no wonder FH said “do not show me any pictures, ask me what style I like or show me your dress ~ you are beautiful & that is all I’m going to say about it!”
Bee Brides….anyone feeling like this or what are your thoughts about the dress pressure???

From reading your post I think you like Dress B better! Go with what you want to wear; never mind others on this choice! It’s your day. You have pix???

I’m returning your advice: be ballgowny if that’s what you want!

Have you considered wearing the more formal, fancy Dress B for the ceremony and then switching to Dress A for the reception?
If that’s not an option, I’m leaning towards just wearing Dress B. It’s obvious that it is the dress that YOU love more.
Why not wear both…one for reception and one for ceremony?
Post a picture of both and do a poll! People will vote 🙂 I did the same thing!!

Wait, we’re supposed to wonder what other people think of our dress? The dress I like looks like a tutu, which is TOTALLY not me, but when I put it on, I LOVED it. I made a little old lady giggle because I was twirling in it when I thought no one was looking. Go with the second one.

ok ~ I understand now that I am so in love with Dress B that I refuse to let it leave my subconcious. I did post a poll & was disappointed that more people chose Dress A, I emailed both pictures to my mom & two of my friends (acting like I hadn’t already purchased both of them ) and was disappointed that they too liked Dress A more & was not as blown away as I was with Dress B. Then I went as far as to “refuse” to see Dress B again & call the consignment place & tell her just to turn around & put it back on the rack….I started focusing on Dress A ~ veil, shoes, accessories BUT 2 weeks later what sneaks back into my crazy brain…
FREAKIN’ DRESS B!!!
ha! I guess I should listen to what I’m trying to tell myself! I will be ballgownie! I will be over the top! I will be a 2 dress bride!!! Dress B to ceremony & Dress A to party! Now…Here is dress A ~ thinking about hemming it to a “ballarina/ankle” length or tea length…what ya’ll think
Crap there I go asking opinions again! ha! it’s a curse!

I also have two wedding dresses that I just bought last week. I fell in love with both and could not decide so I decided to buy both since I got a really great deal. I will be wearing my Maggie Sotterro “Jenna” in diamond white for the ceremony and a Mori Lee “2511” for my cake cutting, first dance, reception.

I want your dress A! Except I’m 5’2″ and short waisted, so I couldn’t pull it off. It’s gorgeous!

I can totally relate to you. Everyone kept saying when you try the perfect dress on, you’ll know. I tried on a bunch of dresses and didn’t find The One, then I tried on one and loved it, but I didn’t buy it. Then my parents came to visit we went to try some more dresses on, I tried one, loved loved loved it and was torn between the two. Now I bought one of them and then sent pictures of my top 3 to my closest friends (not telling them I had already bought one) and they ranked it 3rd!!
You HAVE to wear what you love! It’s your night and now you get to wear 2! FUN!
